Michael L. Maines News of his shooting .

I just called that number got the VA Medical Center and they told me that they have no patient by the name Micheal Maines.

Maybe they just wont give any info out yet?

Had a moment and called the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania
where 'Rabbit' had said Mike was first at.  No one listed in their facility with that name.

The Hospitals will not tell anything, not even a confirmation of name in American hospitals.  It is the right to privacy act.  There isn't any medical organization that will go against it.  Right now our only point of contact is either Rabbit or Zhou.  I have been checking the newspapers in Philadelphia and have seen nothing.  I saw one obit yesterday about a police man but he was 60+ if I remember correctly.  The only other thing I can think of at this point is to tell you to check and see if you have a PM from him where he might have left a phone number or something.

Will the hospital flat out tell the caller that no such person is in the hospital?

Anyone know the name of Mikes business?? Or if anyone has access to the yellow pages or even white pages for his area, that can look up ... i don't know!!! Bounty hunters??? lol!! But you know what i'm talking about. Perhaps then you can get his business or home phone number.....

You are both correct and not so correct at the same time.  A person in the hospital is a matter of public record.  Getting information about the status of the person is a violation of HIPPA which can result in a fine of up to $100,000 and 10 years in jail.  So when I asked to speak to the nurse who was in charge of Mike's care, the hospital data base states that there is no such person listed.  

Martin, in your response, the hospital will say "I can neither confirm or deny that this person is a patient at this hospital".  This is said when there is some compelling reason for privacy, such as celebrity status.  To say that this person was not there when in fact they are, would open them up for all the lawyers.  

So from this I would state that we either have the wrong set of hospitals, or circumstances have changed,  

I work at a hospital as an RN so these are the facts as related to privacy and HIPPA.

Hello, this is Joe, Ms. Zhou has asked that I come here and let all Mr. Mikes friends know what has been going on, Mr. Mike had an alergy to the anisthisia that no one knew about until we found his bracelet ina drawer, i don't know anyother way then to just say it, Mr. Mike died at 10:07 PM on 10/05/09,Ms. Zhou is being made to sleep with drugs for now but she also wanted me to tell you all that the baby is okay and is growing also she told me to tell you all she will sell the buisness to his best friend for about $1.62 million so her and the kids will be fine, today Mr. Mike was cremated so when Ms. Zhou and the kids go home to China to stay in April or May she can take Mr. Mike with her.
Ms. Zhou has asked that if any of you were thinking of sending flowers or cards to please sent the money you would have spent to Mr. Mikes best charity, its one againest child abuse, he hated this the most.
Ms. Zhou also asked to tell you all that she likes all of you and has love for you all and to say goodbye.
I was also told to let you all know that she will never come back here again, it would hurt to much.

What can anyone say.  I am totally lost for words.  

If anyone is in contact with Zhou then please pass on my heartfelt sorrow.  

We never met but that does not diminish the way I feel tonight.  

I will alway remember Mikes motto.

To Zhou and family,

Oh what a terrible thing to read when I come to this site.  Zhou please accept the condolences of Zhen and myself.  Mike truly was one of the best and will be sorely missed.  While our loss is nothing in comparison to yours please know that we feel for you in our deep hearts and wish you and your family the best.

We hope that everything in your future goes well and no further hurt visits your family.  Remember if you need anything you just have to ask here on this site and help will be there.
