I loved it!  Anyone know if they can get youtube in China?  I'd love to send a link.  Don't know if she'd get the "your momma" stuff or not though.

It is my understanding, that no they can't.

I had been sending links to Youtube videos to a Chinese friends for almost six months and I always wondered why she never said anything about the videos I sent her.

After I started pestering her about it, she confessed that she was too embarassed to say that she couldn't access the site *laughs*

What I have been doing to get around this is to download the videos and send them to her via email.

You download the videos using the following process:

http://www.savevideodownload.com/

The recipient of your videos will need a flv file reader. I use the following one and have found it works well:

http://applian.com/flvplayer/

A lot of messing around sure, but I really enjoy talking about the videos and music on Youtube

Maybe they feel someone would make a few video clips about the government and post it there so they eliminate the problem by not having access to? In a way I don't blame them. So much fake crap has been posted that people believe is true or real.

My December and February trip I could see youtube but my trip last month - NO. When I was at the agency, the owner said that the Chinese government finally blocked the site a month before. Maybe the government shut it down in anticipation of the aniversary that just passed.

If you Google it, you will find that it was blocked in March 2009 and it was never unblocked after that.
