Flats...Apartments
« on: October 26, 2009, 10:14:39 am »
Hi guys.
I know I am doing this a little late, but has anyone got any knowledge on the cost per month of flats, or apartments?

I'm thinking this is something I may should have done a long time ago to make sure but hey, got caught up in the emotion of things...

I want to know know because I will need one in case job prospects don't pan out for a couple of months...

Cheers people in advance...

In which cities Rob?  Beijing is more expensive than some of the other places.  They run anywhere from $400 usd up to 1300 usd per month.  We paid about $600 for a 2 bdrm 1 bath furnished apartment.  I was told in Xi'an that that would run about $350 - $450 so a big difference there.  I can check with my wife about Wuhan.

I walked past a real estate place in Wuhan. I  can't remember the exact figures, and I couldn't remember the Chinese characters as to determine whether the rent was weekly or monthly. But I can remember the price range between apartments was vast. I guess there is something for every budget.

And no, most Chinese apartments don't have elevators (unless they're one of the expensive 20 storey new builds I guess). Wow, my lady's parents live on the top floor and it was no fun hiking to the top, especially when there weren't any lights on the stairs, and there were plenty of toys, stray dogs, door mats and other things to fall over lol.

As i was there for three weeks, i toyed with the idea of an apartment, i found a 1 bed in Baoding for 100 yuan per day, at that time the exchange rate would have made it about £300 per month, but it was fully furnished, pretty well decorated, good size bedroom, living room and kitchen. And came with it's own computer and internet conection. Bear in mind the guy new it was a very short term let, so probably increased the price because of that. I Guess if you can say you want a longer term lease then that price would come down. Plus, that probably was the 'western' price too...:icon_cheesygrin:

Rob

I think that you are going to much the same sort of city that I am now in.

I am paying 1200 a month for a 2 bedroom furnished apartment.  A good size and good location.

For comparision the apartment I had in Zhuihai was smaller but had extensive gardens and that cost 2200 rmb a month.

Of the two the one is Zhongshan is better in most respects as to city centre location.

Hi Rob,

I asked Ming Zhi about the price of apartments, she said  "Good plot about 1,200 yuan a month 80 square meters, poor district of about 500- 600 yuan, Qingdao, rent will not be much more expensive, but higher" Then she said " look internet for house price" so she found these:-

www.house.sd.cn - 0532-83645851 - ??

Ah, I had a few links to rentals but they don't work!

If you cut and paste this into google.cn ?????? you should come up with the goods, prices, pictures an all! Get your translation head on.

Then she said "why bother he will be given a house with his job!"
I will explain it to her latter, Have fun:icon_cheesygrin:
