A place to live in China.

Ok Where is a very affordable area in China? A place not in the North it is to cold. A place a guy can feel his wife is safe when she goes out of the house I wont be there. Water and air is good. Rent is Cheap got to pay for the place and the still the mortgage at home. Will file for her visa in mid Jan and move her at the same time so only need the place till she can come home. Hopefully only 8 months max. Wife wants Beijing but Damn may as well live in Downtown San Francisco. I will be there all summer hopefully to escort her home. Not to far from an Airport would be good. 2 bedrooms her son and Her and Me when I am there. You guys are probably getting the idea by now.
All suggestions are appreciated. She is pretty disappointed about not going to Beijing so the sooner I can tell her something good the better. If someone knows of an inexpensive area in Beijing now that would be sweet.

If anyone is going to find a cheap area to live in Beijing, it's going to be your lady!! But for some idea on apartment prices, perhaps ask JimB.....
Beijing is North China, and yes it is bloody cold there right now. The tap water is not safe anywhere in China that i know of. The air in Beijing is one of the worst polluted areas in China when the wind is blowing in the right direction ...lol!!!.
Your then wife, will be relatively safe wherever she lives in China, she will take all necessary means, to make sure of that herself.

In Baoding , that's about an hour or so outside Beijing. An 80m2 apartment in a good area will set you back about 1200 yuan a month or in a not so good district about 600-800 yuan. There are lots of agencies on line that will help you find a place in other cities, as always the ladies are the ones to check this out! Or go to " Google.cn " and look yourself,best have google translate ready to run too! Best of luck to you both

I'd recommend somewhere on the coast, the air in the centre is just horrible and the climate's not great either.

As Paul has suggested, Baoding might be good. The Chinese are actually building a lot of new high speed rail lines, so you should be able to find somewhere in easy reach of one of the places with an international airport you can fly to.

Interesting about the climate. Just how severe this winter is so far in China :-

Kunming averages November :-

Daily High : 18C
Daily low 7c

Saturdays forecast :- Drizzle and flurries. High 1C and low 1C. Winds E at 5 to 10 mph.

This cold is effecting everywhere in China and is just crazy. I should be wearing t-shirts here but instead its colder than 53N in Dublin and this is the sub tropics in Guangzhou and woolly sweaters and heavy jackets are more appropriate.
