Shaun, remember the old adage " better to ask forgiveness than permission" Besides when your lady gets the heater and cannot return it what is she gonna do? Chines people waste nothing so you might catch hell for it but i guarentee she will be sitting nice and warm when she gives it to you and isnt that worth it? Personally i say give the heater.

PS Yes the temp is hovering between -2 and plus 5 in Wuhu but with the wind and the humidity its cold. Even at the school where i work everyone is bundled up all the time. They sure are not big on paying for heat here if a coat or extra sweater can do the job.
Every morning when I wake up my apartment is between 10 and 13 degrees celcius which for us western types is mighty cold for indoors.
