This ones for you Ted,
It is unlawful to peel an orange in your hotel room in California. Why?...I haven't got a clue.

It is against the law for a man to be the state librarian in Mississippi.

It is illegal to give your sweetheart a box of chocolates weighing less than 50 pounds in the state of Idaho.

In lawrence, Kansas, you can't carry bees around in your hat on the city streets.

Thanks for the information Rob. Why would one feel the need to threaten someone in a information/help forum? I might take that back on second thought. I was just thinking of my last customer assistance phone call. The foreign accent was so heavy that I couldn't understand him. I hung up on him.

A Washington D.C. ordinance makes it illegal to fly a kite in that city.

It is a crime against the U.S. Government to give a false weather report.

In Wisconsin the legislature passed a law requiring that any meal costing more than 25 cents must include a minimum 2/3 ounce of cheese.

Under penalty of law, no girl in dyersburg, Tennessee can phone a man for a date.

These silly laws are still on the books because it is easier to keep them on the books than go through all the red tape to remove them. It is from a page in a calander I received for christmas. There are 45 in all.

I think the States have a history of something like 200+ years, ...now just imagine the amount of outdated laws that the UK has, (and i'm sure Europe) that are still on the books for that self same reason, of too much of hassle to officially remove them. Most tend to be local ''by-laws'' ....and your right, there are some really hilarious ones!!....sod living back in those days ...What!! ....haha!!
