Just picked up some figures for you Maxx.

They are expecting 200,000 to come through the main gates of the Olympic park today. As well as the main stadium, where the track and field start today, the Olympic Park also holds the Aquatic Centre for swimming, hockey stadium and Cycling velodrome.

Cheapest tickets for London 2012 are 20.12 GB pounds - most expensive 2012 GB pounds.

20 pounds 12 pence are the cheapest seats at any of the events and these are the furthest from the action. 2012 GB pounds is for the very prime seats.  These seats are I suspect mainly for the sponsors- high prices to make it look like they are getting a good deal back!  I think there will be very few bought at this price when just a few yards away you can get a cheaper one at just 201 pounds 20 pence. 201.2 gb pounds. about 300 us dollars.

I watched the track events inside the stadium and at 10 am in the morning there was 60,000 inside there alone.

That could be a bloody long, but probably joyful experience.  Well after the first 20 or so maybe.

Not to worry your still a small country population wise.

Now if medal list was compiled by population divided by gold medals then may GB would be top of list.

I'm not a huge fan, so I don't pay a lot of attention, but it seems like this Olympics has a lot of drama and unsportsmanlike behaviour.  Is it this bad every year?

Before it started all of the UK news reports were doom and gloom. This is or that is not going to work.  The News Media were falling over themselves to find ways to put it down.

Now it is a different story.  I hear that it has changed, albeit possibly temporarily,  the attitude of people in general so much so that on the streets and public transport you accidently bump into someone and you get a smile back, whereas before you would have expected a scowl or a shove in the back.

10 am in the morning there are 60,000 plus in the Olympic stadium and they are cheering on even the minor heats. They are still the same crowds there when it ends at 10pm at night.

I am missing all this in person but I can see and hear the difference it has made to the country as a whole.

It is a very sad. I remember when Australia had a tally of well over 60 medals at one Olympics.
