How about 'Computer Solitaire' where you can play with "TWO" or "THREE" different suits in ONE GAME ... Now that's tough and requires brain power.   Glad to read about Qing and your life in California.

I know what you mean about the card games.  I taught my wife Gin Rummy.  I am not bad at cards.  She beats me 2 to 1 every time.  We play for massage time, needless to say I do a lot of massaging.  I am going to teach her poker and see what she can do. lol.  If she is that good, I may take her to Vegas when she gets to the US. hehe.  She told me she never loses at Mahjong when playing for money.  I told her that is the way to get her Mercedes.  (that is the car she wants).
Good luck to Qing on her driving test.  I know she will do well.  She doesnt know how to do anything less than that.
I need to let my wife talk to Qing about the girlfriend deal.  She tells me she will not share me, no matter what.  lol

You did not get out of bed until 10 o'clock???

We never get out of bed before 10 o'clock when at home.   At least that is one great change I have made to her life.  No more getting up at 6.30 am 13 days every two weeks for her to go to work.

She has joined me in becoming a late night person.  Except I can spend hours playing on line poker and she watches every cent coming from or going into my pot.

As usual , I take my Birthday off from Work . First thing we are going to do today .. is go to the DMV for Qing's written Test to receive her Permit and then off to more serious lesson's on Calif. driving .:-/
So , I will let you know how she did later . Going by her confidence , this should be no more than 5-10 minutes with the chinese Test . If it takes longer , I will worry . She did have all the Test's available ( somebody else' ) to study the answer's , so hopefully ... they did not come up with new ones for the new year:huh:.

You're right Ted . They have four different versions of the Test . Over the last months , Qing has both studied the English and the Chinese version's of the DMV Booklet's and it proofed to has pay'd of very well for her . She passed the test with an score of 100% and only needed 10 minutes to do it . What can I say ? I'm very proud of her . If I was to take it now , I most likely get 5 - 6 wrong or even fail . We did mention here ... they are very smart People those Chinese . I give her a month's time and she will take the driving test , which I think she'll be more than ready for .

Hi Arnold,

Happy birthday, even so I am late, he he. You may tell Qing that the living in Germany is not good too. I am very glad that I do not live there at the moment. I think the economical situation in Germany is close to the Californian situation.

Glad to read that everything is going smooth.

That's funny Ted ... take a nap while she is driving . You know this way , I might not wake up at all anymore . haha

Thanks Hajo for the Tip , I will show Qing your Post and I'm sure she will start to miss Shanghai again instead . :icon_cheesygrin:

Thanks Jim . Hope you are starting to feel better by now . We both know , your in the best of hands with your Wife .. even if she wasn't a Nurse .

To close out my Birthday yesterday , we did go to one of our favorite Sushi places and it just so happens that as we walked in ... there was a chinese Lady with her western Husband sitting at the Sushi Bar already . It turns out , this Lady is from Shanghai also and grew up not too far from where Qing grew up . She's been here 10 year's already , mostly in San Francisco but she moved down to Palmdale two year's ago .. as her Husband is one of the designer's of our new Hospital here . After the introduction , I think ... I could have left for Home ... Qing would have never known I've left . hahaha
Talk about them two getting on ... boy ... the Shanghainese just flow in all directions let me tell you . How is that to top off my Birthday ? It is like Qing received a reward for doing so great on her Test .
Well , I for sure can not be any happier ... for taking this day off .

Well , things are still going great and the Honeymoon is far from over  .

One thing of notice though , a couple of day's ago Gary from California called me at Home . As I found out he is also from my Hometown Palmdale and we will pick a day to have Breakfast or something to meet up . I will see how this will go and inform you of the ongoings concerning this meet .
