No one (except maybe Maxx) knows about the Hispanic takeover then I. Takeover being the key word. When they know your going to argue with them? the ¿qué? (what?) is used. If you berate them just right? they will answer in english* (*that's what we call it here). I would not worry of the spelling of the english language when they can not speak it either and I don't mean just the Hispanics.

I have an answer to this it was both really, he spoke and wrote in both.

We have a saying here... "your in America, speak it". In a country that has lets say many dialects, it's not easy understanding even ourselves? I have "picked up" different languages myself. Now working on chinese of course.

Funny , how the Spanish has taken over our Country ( S.Cal. along with half the southern States ) and now English is taking over Germany . That could lead to quite a "Mix" say 50 years from now . I can understand the Spanish part because we Border them , but Germany ? We Border NO English speaking Country . Are the English leaving their Island and moving Inland ?

This little Island gave the world many things.  The Language, Television, Internet, Electricity, the Wheel and if we go back far enough then probably life itself.

So I think we have done enough as the rest of the world has taken this ideas and slowly ruined the initial concept. 

The language has been eroded, Television - just look at some of the crap they call entertainment, the internet well what would we do without facebook, twitter etc.

Just a thought....your Great X 10,000 Grandma was an African......they have traced the European Mitochondrial gene (only passed through the female line and does not degrade with age) right back to the "so-called" Eve....about 2.3 million years.....

Yep Willy, you are right. Originally there was one great lump of land...Gondwanaland, and this split up into lots of bits through Plate Tectonics (Continental drift). But that was about 3 Billion years ago, when life was just getting going and we we were all basically bits of pond slime.

Come to think of it, for some parts of the modern population, nothing much has changed....

Be carefull with assumptions David. Although you are right in us becoming white as a mutation (probably due to decreased sunlight), also blue eyes, yet you can not assume that what remained in Africa did not also change. We do not know how we originally looked when we first ventured out of Africa and how much the gene pool has changed with those that remained.
