At least China's censorship is clear, not like in some Western countries where censorship is handled behind the scenes, as if it didn't exist...

There is a peer 2 peer program called Share that has dvix/xvid too i believe, if you send me a PM i can give you a few places to download some divx/xvid movies ^_^

I am not real computer literate but my children  here watch tv on their laptop with a site called... tvshack.net ..... no www before it too. From what I have seen they have virtually everything there, tv shows, movies,.... and all current too. For free too, but it is limited to 54 minutes at a time for free. if you join it is unlimited. They have links to other sites too. check it out.

I think it just stops. I am just getting the instructions now. You can watch up to 72 minutes of video, it may stop earlier. then you have to wait 54 minutes, refresh the page and then resume your viewing. I personally have not been on the site. Both my daughters are on there all the time. You can join the site, I don't know the cost, and then it doesn't stop the video. You can get almost everything on there. TV shows are the programs that were aired the day before. A new movie comes out, a week later it is up there. They have older tv programs too as well as movies. I just thought that this may interest you, or anybody else for that matter.

We have just moved, october of 09, and I was expecting a retirement buyout from the company I worked for so I did not sign up for cable tv. My girls didnot like this decision on my part. I figured that why bother if I am going to move in a couple more months. (I will be moving soon again. and Vince, my place right now is still a mess with boxes on the floor still. I figured why unpack.) So anyways, my girls being as resourceful as they always prove themselves to be found that site for tv. The movies were a side benefit. If you can't figure out anything on that site I can get them to explain it for you. They are cheap too, my girls, they won't sign up on the site. ("Dad, why pay for something if you can get it for free?")They just wait out the 54 minute time limit and resume watching the program. My one daughter watched Avatar the second week it was out on that site. Took her almost all night to do so though. Hope that it helps you out with your chinese movies.

Welcome to the club. :icon_biggrin:  I have the same thing right now. I moved here last year (Oct 08) and have been remodeling, which slowed up because of funds diverted to other things. My Home surround sound hasn't been hooked up since the move. Have to route the wires? My old place they were in the wall. The center of the home is large room 36 ft by 14 ft. (living room, computer area, kitchen). My old place I had the second bedroom as an office. I decided to have the bedroom a bedroom. So all the boxes of books, paperwork, computer parts and cables, programs etc. is still in boxes behind me. When the BR is done I'll put a cabinet in there and unpack some and dump the rest. Behind me also is a new BBQ grill. Which I have to chain down outside yet so it won't be stolen (the last one was). I was putting a large shed up like my old place but I'll be moving again anyway. The front room is all tools.

I had satellite for a while a few years ago. Between the heavy rains and the airport near by, it was a waste of money. Today? Free Broadcast TV.

Whew, I'm glad I'm not the only one that hasn't unpacked. I can't stand moving the boxes around to clean, dust bunnies everywhere due to hardwood floors throughout, and when the girls want something stuff gets strewn all over the floor and I have to repack.

just finished watching "The Empress and The Warriors". Chinese movie with english subtitles. Watched another one the other night. "Fist of Legend" with Jet Li. English language spoken in it. Great kung fu scenes! I could mail them to you if you want.

My girls, twins that are 23 years old. One, Shannon, has a thing for asian boys and Cheryl, well she has not said anything about the move yet, if any. I will be first moving closer to Toronto. China or Singapore will yet have to be determined. Shannon has a new boyfriend, not asian though, and she is always talking about him. I met him the other night. She called to see if I was home so I could meet him. Big mistake on her part. Gave me just enough time to get the shotgun out and have it on my lap when he walked in, and yes the trigger lock was in it and it was not loaded. just did it for the laugh. When his mom heard about it I guess she pissed herself laughing. He walked in the room and turned right around and walked out. He wouldn't stop smiling the whole time afterward though. I had been listening to some country music that night, Dierks Bently, "What Was I Thinking", and I don't remember the other artist but the song was,"Still Cleaning This Gun".

Anyways, the girls would not be coming with me if I move anywhere, I think. I don't know for sure about Cheryl. She is not done school yet. Last time we talked about it she said she would not move out of Windsor.

I have thought long and hard about a move like yours. I have made peace with my material self to get rid of everything that I hold dear, the superbee, and other things too so I could do it. I am mentally prepared, i think.

Holy crapp, I have someone on this QQ thing already!!! I will try to get them to you one way or another. Just give me time to get it figured out on uploading them. Is bo or bu no in chinese?
