Darn I got an eye exam in Canada last week. Oh well next time I know what to do. I will get my backup glasses in China.

bring your prescription here and get glasses here they are cheaper than the usa
so i am sure they are cheaper than canada as well

Ted,

All Taxi meters worldwide work on time and distance. So if a taxi stops for any period of time it measures time, when moving , it measures distance. That's why they have to be regularly calibrated by the local authorities responsible for taxi's in there area....

There much cheaper in China Ted, there are very few countries that prescription glasses are cheaper than in China!!

david  yes this is the second time i have gotten my glasses in china.
         the first time i brouht my prescription with me. this time i had everything
         done here and i must say the lady who helped me pick out a new pair was
         quite beautiful glasses on or off:icon_cheesygrin:

$480 CAD here for a hi-index everything lens and titanium frame. $65 for an exam in Olympic land.

when you come here still bring your prescription and see if you want
to get a second pair the prices here are cheap and the quality is good
many choices here i just did it all for 400 rmb and the glasses and lens
are of high quality index

i think the way they work is you buy a sim card for say 100rmb and after you put it
in your phone there is like 55rmb talk time on it and you load it as you go with more rmb
