Chinese Female Singers
Chong:
I remembered my parents listening to a Chinese female singer back in the 70's. I didn't know what her name was until my wife and I listened to a famous Chinese singer by the name of Theresa Teng. It brought back sentimental memories.
If you 'Google' Theresa Teng, she's one of China's most famous singer. All Chinese women know of her songs. Her CD would make a great gift for your lady. Though the stores carry a 3 set CD [ 6 CDs & 300 songs in total ] for 84 RMB, I found a 2 CD set of her 40 most popular songs for only 12 RMB. I always admired her lively upbeat romantic tunes.
Who are some of your favorite Chinese female singers ???
mustfocus:
Femail chinese singers from back then? Teresa Teng (Dun Li Jun) was the most popular one... my mom was very upset when she died...
- Anita Mui (Mui Yim Fong) ... The chinese Madonna... also passed on.
- Sally Yeh (Yip Sin Man)
There were others as time progressed (such as Tsai Chin, Sammy Gao, Tsai Chin, Paula Tsui to name a few), but those three from back then were the most popular...
temur72:
The only one I know of is Faye Wong, good voice, good looking on par with the talented English singers and vastly superior to the heavily modified voices of most english singers (Britney ect)

Not a singer but may I stand up for a very excellent violinist and certified hottie.
Vanessa Mae.

OK, so she was born in Singapore and only her mother is Chinese, but I would love to see a "Fiddle Off" between her and Charlie Daniels.
