Guangzhou Metro Line
« on: July 22, 2010, 07:46:11 pm »
Guangzhou metro line 3 will open up a route that you will be able to take from the airport to the city
or anywere else for that matter.  GOOD DEAL

taxis are about 145 to the house from the airport and the bus is 19 rmb but the waiting is horrendous
and the drivers of taxi's sometime take the scenic route to up the fair 20 or 30 rmb if you dont know the city

I'm still amazed they don't have this in Beijing, the wait for a taxi there is a major PITA

Irishman,
the plan is to be open at this years end.  but of course you know the chinese they always seem to get it open early so
hopefully i wouldnt be surprised if it opens at the beginning of or end of the asian games.

also will be doing security checks also when you walk into the metro.

why wait for a taxi in Bejing take the airport bus shuttle and then chase your bags all night >:(

Looks like you are right Ted.

I found the following article online that suggests October - just before the Asian Games, which makes sense. Its going to be a great addition to the metro service - Guangzhou Metro Line 3 to Connect to the Airport in October
