Would you recommend your attorney?
« on: November 06, 2010, 09:13:08 pm »
I would like to ask a few questions please.
1) I seen on a website that couples are getting their VISA in 6 months. I would llike to ask couples who have received or is waiting for their VISA : How long did it take to get their VISA, would they recommend their attorney to me to use, his/her name , telephone contact number. Was he easy to talk to, did he or she speak Chinese, did everything go fast and smooth?

2) Should the attorney be in China so my girlfriend can talk to the attorney in Chinese when asking questions on how to fill in the forms? My friend's wife said she asked some friends in China who knows English to help translate the forms for her. Perhaps my girlfriend needs to do that.  I think they wanted to keep the long distance calls to a minimum. I think she said she only talked to their attorney once cause the atttorney was in the US.

3)Would anyone's fiancee/wife  be available if my girlfriend wanted to ask questions about this process and it's forms? My girlfriend could call or email if the person was in China or email if out of China already.  Just asking  to see who's out there who can help her.  Anyone can write me here or my email is " motosue@hawaii.rr.com " .

I had seen a couple of names on this website that was suggested. I printed them out one time but can't find it right now.
Thanks for your help.

Hi Wilford It took my wife 11 months to receive the K1 visa.My wife's paperwork went threw the Nebraska service center. The Waite time on the visa is determined by how quick you get  your paperwork sent in.And where you live at.With you living in Hawaii thiere is a good chance your paperwork will be sent to the Ca.service center.I have no idea how long the wate is threw Ca. service center.

I used Holmes and Lolly out of La jolla Ca.They did a good job.Kept me well informed. They are kind of pricey. ( 1800 in U.S dollars) But they got the job done.I don't know of anyone who has had any luck with a Chinese immigration attorney. And n my own personnel opinion.I wouldn't use a Chinese  attorney. The Chinese attorney may not be up to speed. On the changing laws of immigration. So your Chinese attorney.May have you filling out the wrong forms.Or miss a form all together.

As far as filling out the forms. I made copies of my wife's forms. Then I sent my wife the forms using Fed ex.And then we got together on skype one night. And filled them out together. After she had filled them out she sent them back to me by Fed Ex.I then checked the forms. And made sure they were ok.Then sent the forms to my lawyer. If I remember right Fed ex Charged me fifty bucks.Going to and comming from China.

I'm sure that we can find somebodies wife.To help your girlfriend fill out the forms. And help prep her for the interview. We have a number of Americans here.Who have thiere wives living with them.We do not recommend using friends of your girlfriend. To fill out the forms. And we do not recommend using wives of members.Whose wife has never lived in America. It gets the rumor mill started. And it is hard to get it stopped. You will be pulling your hair out after about 2 months of the rumor mill.

Take your time and read threw this forum. We cover the forms the interview. How to deal with certain questions.Your girlfriend will have. And what documentation you and your girlfriend will need. And how to obtain that documentation. And if you can't find the answer to your question.Don't hesitate to post your question here.Somebody will know the answer.

As far a getting the forms filled out. I think as in most cases that help will come from you. A bunch of Chinese women together. They will discuss every question. Even the simple ones, like Name:  for ahalf hour before they decide what to write down.
And te forms also need to be written in English.
There is a company in China that was reccommended to me that does all of that leg work stuff helps her with everything. inteview questions paper work all of that.  contact ocean-visa.com the cost was $3000.00 US and well worth it is what I was told.

I was wondering if anyone has used an immigration attorney in Virginia. I am in the Roanoke area.  I was given the name of an attorney in North  Carolina, but would rather have someone in my state. According to the local phone book, no one is an out and out specialist on immigration. Of course, my lady wants to use a company in China that her friend is using. But I am not sold on that idea yet.
Thanks for your help.

I used an attorney from China and he did a good job. I believe he just does visa and immigration work. He worked with my wife very well while she was in China and still stays in touch with us by email to see how things are going. I talked to him by phone several times and could understand him well. It took us 8 months to get the k-1 visa. His email is visachina@yahoo if you are interested. Good Luck!

Hi Mike,

Out of curiosity, can you provide us with the name of the guy you used here?  I think we should have a list of who works and who doesn't.  Might help things along for those who follow. :)  Thanks.

I just received an email about this visa china company. They were highly recommended. I will find out more later tonight. They are certainly cheaper than a US attorney.
