Friends wish to visit me
« on: April 27, 2011, 11:19:35 am »
Ok, so most of you know about the disastrous end of what appeared to be a wonderful relationship developing, that is behind me. The question here, I made some friends while visiting China and we have talked about our little playgrounds here the great lakes, particularly that one on the shores of Lake Erie in Ohio, you know, Cedar Point.

I was curious, because a couple of these friends are women and I know USCIS is full of bastards who seem to think that any woman who is not married is obviously coming here to find a husband and violate our immigration laws. How and what can be done to prove that they are not coming here to get married?

Any input would be appreciated, I've read the US state department website on the requirements, so I'm just trying to figure this out. Considering my next trip to China is in Aug/Sept. It would work better if they could come during the warmer weather when Cedar Point is actually open. Plus, it's an excuse for my sister in law to drag me and other people to Cleveland to the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame. Who knows what else, we've got a few things in Michigan and Northern Ohio to entertain people.

Thank you,
Lloyd

I cant help you much with the US requirements for Tourist Visas for single Chinese Women....but I am sure they are the same as Australia...the "bastards" in the Australian Immigration Department firmly believe
that these women only want to come here to find a husband...or to disappear into the woodwork and become an illegal overstayer....because that is what most of them do !!!!

Sadly, for genuine women who have no ulterior motive, it makes things difficult. But as usual, the bad ones always make it harder for the good ones !!!

As far as Aus is concerned, if you make application for a Fiance or Spouse visa, then they will happily give her a 3 month Tourist visa...but for general tourism, only safe way is to be part of an organised group tour.

Lloyd if all the requirements are met. There is still a good chance of denial. If you still want to give it a try.The ladies will need a ton of proof that they have a good reason to return to China.IE own a home.Have kids in school in China.Have a real good job.Have a huge bank account.Have a letter of recommendation from. There employer stating what a valuable asset they are to the company. And like I have posted before there is still a good chance that they will be denied a visa.If immigration suspects that the woman are coming to the states. To meet a man. They will not look at the application. It is a instant denial.

There is a few travel companies in China. That can help the woman fill out the application. And help them submit all of the proof. Most reputable travel companies in China. Will tell the ladies that.It is nearly imposable for them to get a visa to come to the U.S.

Thank you all for the helpful advice, Robert, I appreciate the 214(b) link, as for the visa requirements, I had already looked over those. I honestly believe that given all the circumstances and requirements and the general behavior of the both the USCIS who wrote the requirements for the visa and the efforts of the consular officials to enforce such ridiculous policy. It's going to be a challenge, we'll leave it at that.

Again, thank you all, we're just going to have to try and see what happens. A couple of those involved will be easy, they do have jobs and they are work-aholics, so I'm certain they may be approved to visit. The remainder, well...  we will try and see. Each day I become more annoyed with my own government. Is that a bad thing?

Thanks
Lloyd

Same here in NZ.. Its almost impossible for a single woman without vast resources
to get past Immigration NZ.
