Dutch VOG-need English translation

Hello everyone, my name is Mark, I am going to China in September to be married to my girl.
i am filing out the sponsorship forms. She has a daughter that has studied in the Netherlands
so I need to get the police clearance from there, they call it the VOG, and it is only in Dutch.
I was wondering if any of the members here know how to read Dutch and could help me with
the document?

Hello Mark,

Is the police clearance certificate needed for immigration of the daughter to Canada? If this is what it is for, as in part of your immigration papers, then it would need to be translated into either official Canadian language, and the translation would need to be notarized. Thus eventhough my parents are from Holland, and even if I could read Dutch, you would still need a professional translation and notarization. This usually means lawyers, although there would also be professional translation services as well.

thanks for the reply! Actually the daughter is not coming, she is studing in Sweden now and is engaged to be married. but she is still considered a
dependant,  and therefore needs the police clearance. Since I cannot read Dutch, I am having a difficult time to fill the form out, google translate
only helps so much. I will try to find someone local in Edmonton that can help.

Depending on where you are in Canada, there are some large Dutch populations in West Michigan. I believe both of the Universities (not the community colleges) offer Dutch as a course of study. That would be Grand Valley State and Western Michigan Universities. Just a thought, might not be helpful at all...

Is the form you are trying to fill out the offical Dutch Police clearence certificate to be sent to a Dutch government department? If this is the case, maybe check to see if there is a Dutch consulate nearby.

DZ's stand for double salted and most people can't handle how salty they are. Us Dutch love our sweets and our drop. Drop is Dutch licorice.

I am with you on the Double Zout. I got my daughter hooked on them now. Fortunately, a new grocery store opened, and carries them...as well as the chocolate vlokken...do you know what that is?
