Visa Renewal Hong Kong
« on: May 15, 2012, 02:05:25 am »
For information - The arrival hall at Hong Kong airport Stand OA7 has a visa office where you can renew your visa for Mainland China.
3 months visa cost 1000 HK Dollars about  80 GB Pounds, 130 US Dollars, 820 RMB.

The plus side is that you can collect the visa 5 hours later provided it was ordered before 11am.

This was done today by a Westerner who is visiting me later today.  So is up to date info. So anyone flying into Hong Kong from Europe or North America without a visa can do same.

Actually, it's before 9am ... then you get the visa before 3 pm ... mine was ready at 2pm.

They open at 7am and close 11pm.

And ... I think they charge USA citizens more, don't know why.

For Chinese living in Hong Kong the US embassy is making applications for visa a little more easy, to a point. The applicant for even a tourist visa to the USA still need to go to the U S Embassy for a personal interview. However the big press conference on this was held yesterday to announce that payments for the visa could now be made at one of three 7-11 supermarkets in Hong Kong!!!!!

US Citizens still get 60 days to be in Hong Kong without the need for a visa.  But the US spokesman said that at present there was no intention of allowing Hong Kong residents the same  service.
