Your right but money = security and to them stability.

I do not like to bring this up again but even on this forum where men have lost their jobs or has lost a good part of their income they have too often lost their women.

How many men still on here have lost their job and are unemployed since getting married and are still with their wives?  I know of none but I do know of the ones who are no longer on here and had lost their wives when the job or income went pear shaped.

Hate to say it but, I get contacted by many more local asian women with the same story, Husbands has no income or not enough. The wives are out checking new prospects.

Ok Willy I will burst your bubble.I lost my Job in 2009.I had worked for the same company for 13 years.I married my wife in 2006.She came to the U.S in March of 2007.We are still together and have had 2 more kids since then.It was tough for a couple of weeks.And we had to scale back a little.But we worked threw it.And are still together.

Nik Stanochek moved him and his wife to Texas.for a better job and better opportunities.They were there for about 2 months.Nik got layed off from the new job.Nik and his wife are still together.Nik's wife just had another baby boy.Nik is now working as a loan manager at a bank.The new momma and baby are doing fine.

What Willy is trying to point out to the members here.Is that if times get real tough.And your new wife has married you for a  better standard of living.With a bigger status.It can go south on you if you loose your job.Or if a better opportunity presents it self.To the lady.she could run off n you.for every story I can tell you that has a happy ending.Willy can probably tell you a couple of stories.That don't have a happy ending.So just be careful.And make sure the woman and you are getting married for the right reason.

Yes Maxx but you and Nik are the exceptions that prove the rule and it is often Children that keep the couple pulling together.
But as we know others have not had the same relationship.
Plus the same circumstances can well arise if the marriage is between same nationalities as this does not just apply when marrying foreigners.

I concur with Maxx's interpretation of what I said.  Do not rush things.

I didn't lost my job but in 2010 I had to close down my furniture store.  I lost a boat load of money and my finances have been horrible since then. I am trying  to rebuild my financial future in a bad economy.  I've kept my day job and over a two year period my pay went down $400.00 a month.  That isn't much money unless your budget is already strained to the max.  I stay with that job because of the benefits.  Two more years and I can retire with medical benefits.

Now my salary is back up a little and I've started a new business.  I'm still paying off my failed business but I am making progress.

Peggy has seen me through all of this and we got married in 2012.  It has been difficult but rewarding.  Having made a bad choice my first go round in marriage I knew what I was looking for the second time or at least I hope I knew.

I will say that by the grace of God there go I.  I know that good fortune and a little bit of wisdom has helped me find a great woman.

The journey of looking for an Asian woman is a bit more risky that looking for one in your own country but even that is a 50-50 chance.  Second marriages even worse at 67% and third marriages are at 74%. Since most of the men looking for foreign wives have been married once already I would say that 70-75% of foreign marriages ending in divorce isn't an unrealistic figure given the different cultural backgrounds and expectations.

People have a tendency to repeat the same mistakes over and over again.  Someone once said that doing the same thing again and expecting different results is insanity.  Knowing this I set out to change my expectations and my search window so that I would not repeat the same mistake.  So far, so good.

If someone were to ask me how to have a successful second marriage I would say I don't know yet but here is what I would do.  First, fix yourself, find a good counselor and find out the issues.  Then correct those issues.  Secondly, before you set out looking for a wife determine the qualities you are looking for and qualities that are unacceptable in your new perspective woman and stick to that list.  Third, this one is a little more murky and causes problems in the Christian world.  I do believe in the rhythms of life or harmonics if you will.  There is something to astrological sign thing but I think people take it way too far.  I chose to look for a woman who fit well with my sign.

I only know of one's husband is a "much older" westerner and gave me the whole story. Others I have cut off before hearing their story. Some say they are separated, one said widowed but was very much alive. Conversing right now with a married one (not in China) but this has been more of a friendship or maybe a scammer? Only reason why I'm continuing communicating.

One chinese woman gave no usable information. Then a Japanese woman, it was like pulling teeth for info. Turned out she had 25 cats? The one above, we are staying n touch. She has a girl friend coming for a visit. Another chinese woman who said she was a citizen? A few more but you get the idea. If I feel they are hiding something? I figure they are. I cut them loose. Western women aren't any better. A few of them also coming to town looking for an escort. I don't come cheap. LOL I just delete.
