That's quite a pricey airfare getting from the UK to the USA to pick up a bit of discount.  But them if the old folks back home even think of going there - well God help them as old age is getting to them!! ;D ;D

Still perhaps I will be come loopy enough to get on a plane voluntarily and go there myself one day. :o

Mind you joking aside Alzhiemer's is a terrible blow to inflict one side of an aging couple.  A friend of mine has had to put his wife into a care home. Not that he wanted to as he always  intended to look after her through it together.  However as the illness progressed there came a time when she no longer recognised him and there were flaming rows every night where she would hit him with anything she could lay her hands on.  This was because she thought that her husband of 50 years was some dirty old man trying to get into her bed with her.

For many of us on here that may not be a problem for us, but for our younger wives we could well be a problem for them.

Willy,  have you tried to get your discount with McDonalds and KFC in China?

I never use them myself.

KFC is a 'no no' amongst most adult Chinese because of the additives they added to the chicken.  Their value in China has plummeted.
I will sometimes have a McDonalds meal brought home if my wife is out shopping with her relatives in early evening. But by the time it gets to me the niece's two kids have usually eaten all the french fries and half the pineapple pie as well!

Well at that point its not like she is looking at you with a glint of lust in her eyes as we do
look are ages.  So we might as well get our discounts.

But then they often look at the size of foreigners and think will just 'one meal' be enough for them!

Zoot - you will find that aging process suddenly comes up and bites you in the butt. You wake up one morning and you realise that odd ache or niggling pain has been in the same place for a couple of weeks!!!

Nope....

In Aus we can get a Senior Card (Govt sponsored) at 55 years. This entitles you to many, many discounts, including some Medical and Government Services and a whole heap of retail stuff.

When you get to 65 you can get a Pensioners Discount Card which significantly extends both the range and the quantity of discounts you can get for just about anything, including Utilities, Shire Rates etc etc.
