Are you bringing sunscreen?  I was unable to find any when I needed some last time.  I'm also bringing mosquito repellent.

I also fly out Friday night to Hong Kong.  Have a safe flight and a wonderful trip.

Thanks all!

mpo - I brought extra clothes just to change if I need to because it is hot.  But, it's been just as hot and humid here in Delaware the past week as it has in Guangdong province (I've been monitoring the weather).  So I should be OK :)

CB - Getting to know each other... we've done a lot of that already.  5+ months talking twice a day on QQ and FaceTime.   But yes, learning each other's habits and idiosyncracies is what we are hoping to accomplish spending all this time together.  14 days is a lot, but I think at the end of that time, it won't have been enough :(

Robert - trust me, I'll be here if I need to be.

Willy - Thanks for the offer.  Lisa suggested we stop over and visit you one day I'm there, but we have a tight schedule of things to do, so it isn't likely that we'll make it this trip.  Maybe when I come back we can schedule a day?

Neil - That's a good idea, sunscreen.  I forgot.  But I know she has a lot, or we can go to the market to buy some in China.  I did bring insect repellant, however.  Keep us posted of where you are.  We are supposed to go to Hong Kong near the end of my visit... maybe we can meet up.

kenny - Thanks!  That won't be a problem.

Again, thanks all.  I'm just worried I'm forgetting something important, LOL.  As far as the heat, we are spending a week in Lijiang, so I'm not overly concerned about the heat.  When in Shunde, we will be having dinner with family and friends and should be inside most of the time, so that shouldn't be a problem for me.  But I do despise the heat, and realize way too late I picked the wrong time of year to visit... too late now, but I won't be in southern China in the summer again, unless it's for something important ;)

Good luck to you and give her my best wishes. Have a great time and send a message if you need anything from back here.

Make sure you bring tissue with you any time you use a public washroom...or WC as they are known there...and prepare to squat! Have a lot of fun.

Martin... you are a sick man.  Most people do not think squatting and taking a dump as a lot of fun.  But then again, who ever knows about Canadians.  ::) :P

Remember the Consulate has built a new building. They are in the process of moving now. Do some research to find our where to go for US citizen services. It may have moved to the new building.

I need to figure this out myself next month.

John, already have an unlocked phone and sim card from China Unicom.

Martin, I know all about it.  I watch SerpentZA on YouTube.  He is an expat living in Shenzhen, and has many videos about China.  He did one on the public toilets.

Gerry and Mike... Hongping will get the address for me.  I'll post it here when I get it.
