Okay this might seem from left field and if this is not the place to ask about this I will take this post down

Anyway...

I met someone through QQ even before Mei, and she is a young college student - and we agree that we are just friends.  She wanted to chat with me to learn more about Americans - I wanted to chat with her to learn more about China.  And yes, I told Mei all about her.

We only chat about once every two weeks but today she asked me if I knew how she could come to America - either to study or to work.

She seems like a sincere kid with a very serious crush on all things American, so I wasn't surprised by her question - I just don't know what to tell her.  Does anyone have any ideas?  Is there somewhere she could go to find out more information?

The way I see it is that you really need to concentrate on getting your own lady to the USA.

The next thing is that your 'online pen friend' could be asking you to sponsor her and that could have an effect on your own application if you name gets associated with others in such a way.

The next year or two could be a testing time for you and Mei.

I seems to me that the US authorities look at every little detail to delay or refuse applications so just pass her the details as provided by Robertt.

I get asked all the time about how to find an American man for marriage> But the ones that show their motives by asking "how do I get to America" I tend to shy away from.  Clearly their motives are to get to America and to marry  an American is just a means to an end.  Send her on to other websites and dont get drawn into and advice that may raise eyebrows at the USCIS.

I have no intention of being anyone's sponsor...  furthest thing from my mind.  I just let it slip that I would ask someone for info and so I followed up on what I said.
