Hi all.  We all come from very different backgrounds.  All from different walks of life.  We come from different countries...sorry guys...not all of you are lucky enough to call yourselves Canadian.

I thought it would be fun to see what everyone does or did for a living.  Don't feel obligated to tell us if you don't feel comfortable with this.  I am just curious.  We are all different, but have all come together because of a common goal.

I am a long haul truck driver.  I am a team driver (two drivers in the truck...goes 24/7) who runs expedited freight between Toronto/Montreal to all points in western Canada.

Interesting idea Martin.

Most of my career I have been working in some type of kitchen. Hotels, restaurants, sandwich shops, pizza parlors, nursing homes, hospitals, delies. I guess 15 yrs I worked in all different capacities in some type of food establishment. I've also worked in warehouses, moved furniture, loaded trucks, packed merchadise, all kinds of misc. work before and after college. Last 5 yrs I was a retail manager in a large pharmacy chain. Last 15 yrs I've worked in a managerial capacity in my jobs in the states. Almost forgot, taught esl in Japan for a year in 93 - 94.

I'm an electrician in a sawmill.  Apprentice actually - I have one more stint in school before I become a journeyman.  I had always wanted to go to school for electronics or something in that field but instead married and had kids.  I went to work in the sawmill when my wife became pregnant and 3 years ago I won the bid for an apprenticeship.

I'm Canadian and I've never traveled further east than Saskatchewan or further south than Washington state.  And I'm heading to China in August!

Martin, you probably pass through Revelstoke fairly often.  Feel free to give me a call if you stop and we can have coffee at Tim's, it's on the highway.

I am an entrepreneur  and business owner. I have been so since I left the Air Force about 20 years ago.

I was so impressed with my translator, that she is now my general manager in Handan; and soon is helping setup an office in Beijing!

Combining work and love can be fantastic!
