Update.
« on: March 21, 2015, 04:04:51 pm »
Hong and I are waiting everyday for her interview notice. She has been half packed for a long time now. Tiger her son is finishing automotive school this summer. It was a four year program.

At present, she has been laid up in a hospital in Weihai for the last 10 days.  I don't know the details...but a cab she was riding in was involved in an accident. Hong has had ankle surgery which required a steel pin, but she tells me she was lucky with just that... as her face and shoulder were also impacted but thankfully just a little bruising. Next week the stitches come out and she can go home, and in 3 months the pin removed. Hopefully she will be in the US by then.

The accident was deemed the driver's fault...i sure hope the cabbies in China have insurance.

aieeee! very scary. glad no serious damage. Dont get discouraged. We wer half packed for two years.

How long have yo been married now?  One thing about the law that was in our favor is that if you are married two years before she plants her feet on US soil she gets a 10 year green card and forgoes the adjustment of status bull shit + fee.
Don’t give up when you still have something to give. Nothing is really over until the moment you stop trying.

They have it for the car but my experience is that a driver will usually negotiate paying personally and argue over it for months!

If a case goes to court then I have never heard of them ordering large settlements as happens in the West.

On another good note my wife has gone 18 months without hitting or being hit by another car.  On the down side her son used the car over the Spring Holiday and had a minor scrape with another car so back to the workshop it went.
