there is an article 'Air-pocalypse', in the BBC news today http://www.bbc.com/news/magazine-32352722
specifically mentioning the city of Delhi in India, 'breathing poison in the world's most polluted city'.

always curious on how the situation in China is since Beijing seems to be mentioned alot as far as air quality issues
are there. had an opportunity to visit another American in Hangzhou last Fall and he 'relgiously' refers to his phone
app for current China cities readings, so I had to Google and found http://aqicn.org/city/beijing/us-embassy/,
which of course led me to http://aqicn.org/map/china The surprising information was that of the very
moment I viewed, Guilin's reading (No.8 middle school) was at 377, 22hrs, 04/19, Sunday, China time.
Hangzhou sits at 263.
Beijing, 162.
I am thinking, WOW! Beijing the place to be! Of course, this is not always the way it is, but Guilin was a shock.
Hangzhou, a disappointment.

of course, everything must be examined thoroughly. Last November Beijing air 'appeared' clean as I was there
same time as Obama's visit. for all my ignorance, I did not wear a mask...my wife did.
my wife now has to live in a hospital in Shenyang, off but mostly on since January, as our dear mother was admitted
there as a cancer patient, lung disease.
Maybe all those difficult years in Fushun have finally exhausted the health of this poor dear woman.
