It is a case of wait and see.
The Schengen agreement could well disappear if the UK leaves the EU. (The vote is 50-50 at the moment for the UK to leave). Country after country within it are closing borders. Personally I would like the EU to revert to what is was a ECONOMIC ZONE, that is what most people voted for in the seventies, including me.
When you see the destruction in Syria you can understand the people wanting to get out from there but the numbers have been bolstered by economic migrants from other countries joining the throngs of those desperate people trying to escape a war torn country.
Ten of thousands are trapped in Greece where the borders adjoining it have been closed. So much for much for the Schengen agreement.
The EU does not have a clear line of what to do.
The UK Gov has just announced the net number of immigrants entering the UK in 2015 was 340,000.
