Title: Nice hotel for my dad to stay for a few nights in Guangzhou
Post by: Irishman on March 12, 2010, 01:42:57 pm
My next trip to GZ will be in September.
I will be visiting Sunny for a month and my dad and sister will be coming over for a week during that time to meet her parents and her of course.

My dad is pretty old and frail (he has cancer) but he is determined that he wants to meet her folks and her while he still can.
He's comfortable off financially so he can easily afford to stay in a nice hotel but I don't want him to be ripped off either.

I am wondering if anyone here has been to GZ before that could recommend a seniors friendly hotel that won't rip him off price-wise there?

Thanks bro's.

Ronan...what about that fancy place you stayed at on trip #2?  I thought that was in GZ.

Irishman.

there is a hotel close to my house which is very nice and i could
get him a price of 261 per night which is off the price of 800 rmb.
it is close to the bus stop for going to Panyu and if anything
happens i am about 10 minutes away and Sisi works about 5
minutes away and of course you could get a rental flat close by
and will be even closer to Panyu

Martin,

if you took the bus or taxi depending on traffic it would be about an hour drive. Panyu used to be the
countryside here in GZ with all the farm land but now with 13 million people in GZ it has become developed
and quite large with all the amenities you might need.  they even have a mcdonalds with a drive thru i had
to stop and take a second look at that never saw a drive thru in china   lol

yes willy but it was a drive thru with an exit from inside right by it
which will prove to be interesting after someone gets their nuggets
and drives away. and hits someone

Thanks Ted, is that anywhere near a MTR stop?, though on second thoughts I dunno if he would enjoy trips on the crazy crowded subway there, hmm.
