I was just thinking about something Chong had said to me. He said'" that's another benefit of this Forum. There are members that have their ladies living in Shenzhen. After finding a brother here that's willing to help, ask your lady if she minds meeting for lunch with the brother's lady. Then you can get a everyday life photo plus a feel of her personality." and it made me think that that would be a good idea. So I was thinking, why not have a Thread that members could post the areas that they either live in or where their girlfriends (who are willing) could let everyone know that they would be happy to meet with our new girls. That way the new girls can ask them what it is like to date or marry a Western man and such. Also the man could make sure his girl is on the up and up.
I mean that we don't have to sit on the thread and discuss it, but that it would let new guys like me know which members to ask by PM.
Just an Idea....Please don't Kill me :icon_cheesygrin:

If a girl does not want to provide an every day picture, there are 3 reasons.
1. She does not have a camera. But this is an excuse I guess. I am sure she at least has a phone with a camera inside. She can take every day pictures even thought the pictures is not so clear.
2. There are too big differences between her real every day pictures and studio pictures. She is afraid that her man would judge her only by pictures.
3. She is not real.
If she does not want to show her every day picture to her man, i do nto think she would like to meet any person related with her man. So I do not think this suggestion would work. Sorry for being so frank.

Your idea might work...I am sure there are some willing partners here who would help from the China side. But I dont think we have enough for more than a very sketchy coverage.
However....if a potential lady is not willing to share daily photos, phone calls or QQ....would she really be willing to meet with a stranger and "expose" herself in this way ??...I think not.
I think you are trying to find another angle to get around the EMF bottleneck, and that is applaudable. But unless you can get away from CHNLove, generally speaking, you wont get to the personal stage unless you get on a plane !!
For the average guy, there is only one way to get to know your lady better and that is spend some time in a face-to-face conversation, such as QQ...then you will see and hear the real person and all will become clear.
I have much experience with the CHNLove EMF merry go round and when I was able to get past this and get face-to-face, it was a different world !!
I know some Bros have found their beloved solely on the basis of EMF's, and good luck to them.
But I also know that there have been far more disappoinments by not getting off EMF's.

Good thinking but I do not think it will work. I say that from experience much like David E. Many have tried and failed. Maxx would tell you that the only real way is to go there and that you need to go very soon. That could be a huge disappointment too with one difference. I am told that there are many beautiful women there. Scottish Rob went around looking to find a portable translator and found the translator and a woman. Anything is possible. Many of us are seeing women in Shenzhen. Maybe they will add in their 2 cents. Finally if you are there you can go to the agency and they will find you a woman quickly, several of them in fact. It is the old bird in hand theory. To them, instant money, but don't pull your wallet out and pay anything.

Contrary to the negative opinions above, this does actually work.
I was communicating with a lady from Shanghai back in early 2009. I asked her if she would like to meet with Arnold's wife and she said "Yes". Arnold's wife agree to meet beforehand and they had a great conversation over dinner. I also got a picture from that evening. If a lady has nothing to hide and is truly interested in a long distance relationship with a foreigner, she'll meet with other ladies in the same situation and they'll exchange knowledge.
You don't know till you try.

well i am in Guangzhou so any one who meets a lady here my wife and i
would be more than happy to have dinner with her. Willy is in Zhongshan
and i am sure he would be willing to meet with the lady also. if the lady is
sincere i agree with Chong she would be open to it for more of curiosity to
meet another western man and ask questions. so it could work. but on the
other hand you do need to go meet your lady in a very short time.
a lot of the guys who scream scam i think is really a lady hearing once again
i will be there BUT .......... so they dont think sincerity on your part. just
have to look at that side because they have probably heard that so many
times and nothing happens.

Ok, I guess I might have caused a bit of misunderstanding the name of the thread and the up and up comment. What I meant was. That we could post the areas where either the married couples are or the girlfriends are, so the girls that have started talking to western men could get together with the older members/couples and they could ask them questions and concerns they might have. I do know that we could just have them come to this site, but I also know that there are times that it would be nice to be able to just sit down and talk to someone face to face. Especially when things are tough. A kind of support group. Maybe there is something like that already. I know I am glad that I found this site. You guys have help me a bit...It was getting late and I was tired when I started this thread.

Hi and welcome to the forum. I have not had much time on the forums recently and have not read a lot of the posts lately. I may have missed it but which agency is your lady from? I gather she is with an agency in Shenzhen. My lady is with an agency in Shenzhen too. (P508 Shenzhen Oriental Love Consulting Co. Ltd.) I think this agency has a good record if I remember right but the other agencies in Shenzhen my be questionable. There are threads in this forum that deal with agencies reputations here. Read them please but keep an open mind.
I am meeting my lady in about 10 days. I had asked my lady for her address, I got it. Asked her for her phone number, I got it. Asked her for her QQ number, I got it. I still write her with EMF letters too but I look forward more to the text messages and the chatting on QQ though. These ways are much more personal. It would be great if you could get some way to check up and see if the woman is real, get a gauge of her real personality, but you ultimately have to go over and meet them face to face. It is the only way you will know for sure. David E is one of the more experienced members that has knowledge about sketchy agencies here. Just use some sence when corresponding with these women.

Hi Bee964. My lady is also from the Shenzhen Oriental Love Consulting Co. Ltd. I have read some of the posts about the agencies. I think I have spent about 2 days reading posts :icon_biggrin: at least that is how it feels. I have gotten her phone number and I am working on getting her e-mail and such but I think she has been burned a few times and is hesitant to give the rest. But after that little mis-communication she seems to be opening up more now. Well at least she was. I tried to call her this weekend but her phone was either off or busy. She did tell me she was at her brothers, so I figure that she didn't want to be disturbed or her caller ID was bringing up the phone company I was using and she doesn't talk to telemarketers. I have a tracfone and I know it does that. I better remember to tell her that.:s The one thing that makes me nervous is that she hasn't told her mom yet.

well, why should she tell her Mom until after she meets you face to face and seeing if there is any chemistry. If not she will save her self some embarrassment. If there is, she can tell her Mama. I never actually met mama until the day before our marriage. However, I met the oldest man of the family after our second date. Obviously he approved, he told Mama and she accepted this. Also my wife is very independent.

That is good to know. I just mentioned it because she had gone to see her brother and she had told him so I had asked her if she had talked to her mother and she said that she hasn't told her yet. I suppose me asking her that might have some implications that I am offering her marriage already?

BTW Terryg, I did not get charged for my ladys contact information untill I gave her my cell phone number. We exchanged everything over the course of about 5 weeks and no extra EMF credit was deducted untill I gave her my cell phone number.

Be patient and firm with your intent. There has been several time Peggy has interpreted my comments as a proposal. The most recent, she told me she had never been to Hong Kong but always wanted to go there. Shenzhen is not that far away.
I told her I would take her there for the last two full days and spend time doing anything she wanted to do. She though that was a proposal and began preparing for a quick wedding. Fortunately her sister who is married to a westerner and lives in Utah told her to stop and check with me first.
I was completely surprised. But from her cultural perspective it sounded like a proposal. I apologized but held firm that we needed to meet first, the become engaged and then the wedding. She understood.

I will remember that Shaun, I would hate to have her excited about getting married before we have even met. Because I think that if I did show up and did not plan on marriage, and she had spent a lot of time planning it and talking to family about it. That would cause her to loose a lot of "Face". Not to mention causing a lot of heartache.
GOOD New, I finally got to talk to her on the phone. She has a beautiful voice. I just have to remember to talk slower and enunciate. I was so nervous that I was talking way to fast and she kept telling me to slow down. I know I really surprised her as it took a minute or so for her to speak english, so the first min. was a bit tough. I also think she is trying to kill me. She said to call her in the morning which is no problem but she also said to call in the evening. Man that means I have to get up early. (I hate mornings. (hahaha):s)

Just a thought - when you come to China to make a visit then make sure your your lady is comfortable when you arrive. If she has to make any journey to you by Taxi then be sure you give her the money for these journies. It is so easy to upset a person over cab fares espeially women who may well take a cab only in an emergency. Also if anyone is taking you places for your benefit make sure that you pay the taxi fares.
REMEMBER you pay for the fare inside the cab and not after you get out as you may do in other countries so be polite and be the last one out!!!:icon_cool:

Your attitude about mornings will change because you will be talking with her. Note: The attitude will not change about anyone else.
Why should we post about being nervous. It spoils all of the fun. I remember my first phone call. Peggy told me to call back in 2 days when she was home. She was having dinner with her daughter. I was fuming.
I suggest we ban you for 2 days because of the flowers comment. :icon_cheesygrin: I think you like flowers too much. Plus our women might get the idea that this common every day thing. :angel:

lol...yeah, now that you mention it, my first call to Xin was pretty nerve wracking too. Especially right before I dialed her number. She'd warned me her english was 'too poor'. And I had about a 6 word mandarin vocabulary. I'm sitting there with the phone in my hand staring at it, thinking...what the hell am I doing??? And then I dialed the number wrong, and that made me even MORE nervous! It took me a few minutes to figure out what I did wrong.
And then when I finally got her on the phone, she said 'hello' in english...sigh. It was a little awkward, that first phone convo, but we worked our way through it. Afterwards I had to go outside, because my smile was too big to fit indoors! The next time was only slightly better, nerves wise, but by the third one it started flowing between us. I help her with her english, and she teaches me more mandarin (of course, the things she wants to hear me say! lol) and we laugh and giggle a lot (I will probably get my man card suspended for admitting that, lol.) and I am always in such a good mood afterwards for the rest of the day.
I'm an early riser anyway, so I'm up about an hour or so before I call her at 6 my time.

Great going Roy , you think you were nervous ... Try .. my Wife's Mom calling me ( my B-day ) at work to boot . The very first time and her english is zero to none , but after that she handed the Phone to my Wife and it took a while for me to start shaking like I just got out of freezing water and standing in the Wind . Hearing the softest Voice coming to my Ear , sure warmed me up fast though . It really is the best .. next to stand right next to her . Keep it going .

I remember my first phone call. Peggy told me to call back in 2 days when she was home. She was having dinner with her daughter. I was fuming.
My comment above was very short which is so unlike me.
Peggy had asked me to call her every day. She was suppose to be gone a couple of weeks. Well I waited 2 days then began to try and call her. I would not figure Rebtel out. I tried another company and came back to Rebtel. That took another 2 days. The concept was so foreign to me. I was not understanding what Rebtel was. So I called them and they hooked me up.
Finally I call her. She is taking care of her granddaughter and her daughters family was eating. I was nervous and Peggy was confused. When she realized it as me she became nervous and she could only remember a few words of English. She did remember that she was going home much sooner than planned and she told me. She rushed to get me off the phone. I think she was embarrassed because her daughter didn't know about me yet.
Even now when we both get on the telephone many words disappear. :icon_cheesygrin:

It will work it out if you both have patience. And I mean both. There will be times when you cannot understand each other but a electronic translator is a necessity. If something really important comes up then get help. Everyone who goes to China should have someone at the end of a telephone who speaks both languages even if it is just the agency translator.
If the lady has any English at all then you are lucky. My wife had none when we met. Ok we still do not have long meaningful conversations. (And maybe that suits me after having short ummeaningful associations for the bigger part of my life.) But one day her English will far outweigh my poor Chinese.
She is definately determined on that score.
The apartment we are renting is looking as if it is a store. Everything is labelled with small stickon labels in Chinese. They are phonetic pronounciations of English words. Have a coffee and a chinese person will read 'Cup' go to the computer and read 'Keyboard' or 'Monitor'
Go to anyroom and the labels will tell them the Chinese phonetics of every item including electrical plug sockets and switches. And it seems to work. Her elder sister who has no English reads the words and even she makes them sound like English!

quit worrying about your girls sincerity and just try and progress along
with the relationship. you will find this to be a good approach to have
when your in a long distance relationship. they want to see your commitment
after all the crap they have seen up until meeting you. when you start to over
anaylize you anaylize yourself right out of the picture

I won't have a problem until it arrives. I will try to sleep Tuesday and have a lot of difficulty. The is 1 of 2 reasons I will spend the night in the airport. The other is my flight is at 6:15am. I would have to be there at 4:15am to get through security checks. I would have to leave my house at 1:45am to get to the airport.

Fly from London Heathrow and your likely to be in the queue for longer than two hours on a good day! The security take longer to get through than some peoples flights!!!:@

The airports that I have been to used to say 2 hours should be enough for a non-us international, and at that time of day that Shaun is leaving, it should be. But I'm not sure how long to be there these days... Just checked Toronto Pearson's web site and now they say for the US, it should be 3 hours ahead of your flight. 90mins for domestic, 3 hours for US and 2 hours for international...

My sleep is getting less. I used to be able to stretch it out to 6 hours, right now 5 is max. I wake up and all I can do is think about Peggy and the trip. Jerky? What Jerky? :icon_cheesygrin:
The 2 hour thing is at all airports in the US. Atlanta, the wait can be long. Security is horrible, the lines are terrible. Then comes the train ride to the terminal. Plus dragging 50 lbs of jerky, whiskey, cigarettes, Willy's Viagra (for his marriage counseling service), powdered milk, and other various gifts and things from long term parking. I might as well open a store once I get there. :icon_cheesygrin:

In all my trips to China, NEVER was I able to find a source of Western cigs. !!!....had to smoke the local ones which would choke a horse !!!!

they sell them all over Guangzhou at the smoke shops. marlboro,kent,salem
and about 7 other brands. they also came out with a new chinese smoke last
month that is 20 mg in a black pack. that will kill you a lot faster the girls promoting
it gave me 2 cigarette samples and i swear i got high off it when i smoked it lol!!!!!

Those Cig's sound like the old English Cig's that used to be available , ....and maybe still are called ''Capstan Full Strength'' ... Now they did have a kick. Don't know the mg content, it was way before the time they printed that info on the packs.....
Oh ....and yes agree with you, ...you can get western fags in China, though you do have to be careful that some are indeed ''Fake'' ....

Well Ted that nicely brings us back to the thread itself.

The best way is to use just an agency that guarantees that the lady is genuine. If a lady has been properly checked out that she is available to marry and she has provided her ID for inspection then this is the ideal agency for one to use.
But as yet there is no agency that can offer this guarantee. But one has been mooted on other threads so keep on watching.

If you want to get high you will need Canadian smokes, fags, cigarettes, what ever you want to call them. When I smoked anywhere I went, especially in the US, people wanted a "couple" Canadian cigarettes. They swore they got high on them. You can get them cheap from the first nation people on their reservations. (Indians) They are exempt from the taxes so it makes the cigarettes cheap.
Most of you here talk about the 24 hour rule of Maxxs'. I have lived with it as well as my rule of three strikes. She has two strikes against herself already. What to do if you are wondering about your girl. Well I am wondering about her. I know now that there is some half truths in some things she has told me about herself. I will not come right out and say she lied to me,... yet, because I don't remember if I persisted in getting a satisfactory answer from her. I am still going to count this as a first strike against her though. The second strike, she had to work the night I arrived. She asked me to call her when I got to the hotel and she would tell me what time she would meet me the next morning. 8:45 am. We were to go to breakfast. She did not show up. By about 10:15 am I was too hungry and had breakfast here at the hotel. Odysseus007 called me shortly afterward and we went out for lunch and then he showed me around some of Singapore. Once again thank you very much Odysseus007. When I got back to the hotel, about 7:25 pm, I checked at the desk and she had been there about 20 minutes earlier. Stood up by almost 11 hours. Today she said that she would call me about 2:00 pm. She did not call untill 7:26 pm. I thought that the first time may have been nerves, but twice in two days... I will give her a little benefit of the doubt and lump these two incidents together as one and call it strike two. I am not happy about this at all. Not a good way to start off a relationship. She wants to go out tonight after she is done work. I will see how this goes. I get the feeling that she may be a player. I will not be played by any woman. I turned a blind eye to my ex-wifes playing once and swore to myself I will not let it happen again.

It's called "cili padi" here. The Thais use it a lot. Like some of the local Thai/Vietnamese women - small sized, but packs a BIG punch ! Try the Thai stall's papaya salad too, but if you don't the cili padi, tell them "mai prik" haha.. :icon_cheesygrin: (no pun intended, mai means no, prik means chilli in Thai).

I have had habanero (spelling) peppers before and this put those to shame!!

It's called "cili padi" here. The Thais use it a lot. Like some of the local Thai/Vietnamese women - small sized, but packs a BIG punch ! Try the Thai stall's papaya salad too, but if you don't the cili padi, tell them "mai prik" haha.. :icon_cheesygrin: (no pun intended, mai means no, prik means chilli in Thai).

Like I said earlier, I may have overlooked something in the letters. I waited around for her to show up and guess what, a no show again. I am quite disappointed. I guess it is back to square one.
In thinking about the spicy incident I think the woman behind the counter my think me a bit strange. All I could say was guinness. She put the cold can on the counter and I cracked it open and started to drink it before paying for it.
Odysseus, I will be up for anything. You have my number. Maybe I'll try the other salad! I don't know if I will say mai prik though... :icon_cheesygrin:
Lastly, I got an e-mail from a friend of mine lastnight. If I can get the pictures out of it I will post it. There is a web site in the email that people can go to if they want information on the product... I was amazed! I will post it in the general thread for this and that, when I clean it up. A little secret place on Bencoolen Street, has cheap yet authentic ethnic food. But you better hurry.... place will likely be torn down for en bloc redevelopment soon. What a bloody waste. As a bonus, place also has lotsa eye candy.

If what your saying is how your feeling, then prepare yourself for a bloody big fall!! Read the threads and posts here. You will find that the biggest mistake you can possibly make is falling in love with an image and the written word. Your in love with the thought of being in love....
Not until you meet this lady face to face can you really know your true feelings. Many here can vouch for this fact in the form of totally disastrous trips to China. So your best bet is to pull yourself together and start letting your head do the thinking and not the heart!!
I'm not trying to rain on your relationship, just that you need to face reality in the real world, before it's too late.
You may even be talking to an agency translator and not the lady your emf's are addressed to.
As i said, read this Forum well, be aware of some of the things that have befallen other Brothers here, then come back and post more....

thanks for your answer, I will try and read more, but I don't think i'm falling with the idea, I never went to an agency, have an easy time picking up girl, there's some weird synchronicity that brought me there, but you are right, I am scared!
