Rather than tossing this into a general thread, I thought I would take this chance to congratulate Martin on getting his picture placed on the cover of a phone book... Here's his blog entry (http://thechinesedumpling.blogspot.com/2010/05/picture.html):
"A few months ago, I told a story here about a fox that had come up to the house in search of some cat food. While I was talking on the phone, I had seen this fox, and quickly grabbed my camera to snap off a few pictures of it. Since I had taken this picture, I have shown several people, who all think it is a really good picture. It was one of those lucky shots, that everything was just perfect.
Not long after i had taken the picture, someone had suggested to me that I submit my photo into a contest. There is a phone book that gets printed every year, and on the front cover is a photo that someone in the area has snapped. In the past, there have been pictures of parks, of lakes, and of the autumn leaves. After looking at the previous phone book, I realized that the deadline for sending in a picture was only a few days away. So I emailed my picture of the fox, figuring it was a long shot that it would even be considered for the cover.
Last week while i was on the road, I got a phone call. Apparently the new phone book was out, and wouldn't you know it, but there was the picture I had taken, on the front cover. I had thought it was strange that the phone book company didn't email me to say my picture had won the contest. But all the same, I thought it was pretty awesome to have this picture on the cover for all to enjoy. Here is the picture of the local phone book for you to enjoy as well."
