based on the actual earthquake that happened i think about 15 years ago when a quarter million people
lost their lives

actually it was in 1976 in tangshan that the movie was based on and there susequent meeting years later in sischaun during that
earthquake

Xia and I saw it the day it was released.  A great movie and as mentioned not a dry eye in the house on completion.  I have checked the cinemas in Australia and it has been released here but in very few cinemas.  I will be buying my own copy on DVD when it is released but I suppose pipi is only a mouse click away....
