Title: On my way
Post by: Mikael_Shim on November 26, 2010, 08:00:49 pm
Hi all, its been awhile since my last visit here for many reasons. Some things have changed since then others have not. Im currently checking ticket prices and will be leaving in about 2 weeks. I have everything waiting for me when i arrive, including someone special. And thankfully no agency, middlehands, or interpretors. none needed for that matter. Girl is not from Chnlove.

I need some help though. I need the name and dates , looking for Business, IT, Technology, and Auto related Fares, Expos, Festivals in China mainland and HK taking place during january and up to june 2011.

Any help on that would be much appreciated.

You're looking for opportunities to visit IT security related expos and claim some of your trip costs back as job related expenses against taxes?

Googling up the Chinese ministry of business and investment and looking for a contact email would be one possible way I suppose. there should be an English ministerial site around somewhere.

Thanks Paul, exactly what i was looking for :o)

Aeroflot tickets are as low as 380€ currently but with all the bad reviews and horrortales 550€ with Austrian Airlines, Lufthansa or Finnair might be a wiser choice. Anyone here with actual Aeroflot experience? just googling them doesnt return much positive.

Sure Paul, i will be staying in Beijing and have plenty of time over for the first 6 months, i´ll drop u a pm shortly.

Mikael

Aeroflot are Ok, provided you are on International routes, using Western equipment (Boeing, Airbus)

If you are thinking of flying with them in Illushyin aircraft....better think again !!!!

Hello Mikael!
I have used Aeroflot many times from Copenhagen to Moscow. They use newer airplains than SAS do!
And in almost all their International flight they use Boing and Airbus flights. Check their homepage what airplaine they will use!

Hello again!
I meant "AIRPLANES" as you probably understood.
To Hong Kong and Beijing they use Boing 767 and Airbus 330.
I have even flown Tupolev old ones!
Big experience!

The ridiculously low priced Flights are from Stockholm to Moscow and from there to Beijing. I will check what aircrafts for this trip but i sense they would probably be the latter Airbus / Boeing types for obvious reasons. So perhaps i should give them a try and judge for myself. Will book for sure on monday.. and yes i have a tendency for doing things on the very deadline. Another reason for not booking earlier is coz they dont ask you to show the ticket here for the visa. So i havent been in a hurry yet and made be able to be flexible about leaving when i knew i had tied all loose ends here.

I got a fairly good priced ticket flying out with klm, and the return was with air france. I got it from opodo. Obviously that was from Heathrow, but you could choose other countries as your departure country. They came in at about the same price as the areoflot air fares. Andy.

actually with the short notice im booking, i can find nothing close to Aeroflots 380€. Closest i found is austrian airlines at 550/560€, Lufthansa @600 and my otherwise #1 choice Finnair 660€ . Cheapest KLM i saw were close to 900€ and i know they are usually alot cheaper, so im guessing they are low on seats. Will check Opodo, thanks for the tip!  :)
