We need a lawyer in Shanghai. My girlfriend wants to know what her and her ex's her rights are regarding her wanting to move to Canada with her son. Has anyone used a good lawyer in Shangjhai with experience in this area? Alan

Cant help with Lawyers in Shanghai, but when we researched the Legal requirements to bring Ming's son to Aus with her, we found out that the husband's WRITTEN permission MUST
be given.
If husband has disappeared, then she needed to apply to the Court in China for Official Custody Document.

The US Consulate maintains a list of attorneys that are willing to represent Americans, so I think you might be able to find somebody on the list that can help you!

David thank you, I kind of suspected that was the case. I guess that's all we need to know right now. Robert I'm guessing the Canadian Consulate office may have the same information. I will check that out, thanks. Alan
