Good day everyone, a few days ago I received a reply from a lady on chnlove, and here she wrote this:
and one of my recent life photo in my office to you, i hope you will see a real ****!
What does she mean by: in my office ? I know from here profile that she can barely speak english and it got translated, what do you guys think?
-
Well... Was the picture taken in a office? Sounds to me like she means it is a real life photo of her, taken in her office (where she works?)
-
From what I can see in the photo, it was taken inside her agency. I can give you guys a link to the actual photo if you want.
How I know it's taken from inside the agency? Well in the photo on the back you can see some peoples working on photoshop and on the computer screen you can see the face of a lady, thus why I'm assuming they are photoshopping photos, the desks in the photo are the same as in the agency photos on the chnlove website, in the back you see a billboard with lots of pictures of ladies.
Right now I think I'm only trying to convince myself I got scammed. :D
-
Ah! Translators don't do the photoshopping? The photographers do.What you might be seeing is them setting up a profile?
-
I'll post a link to the picture and you will see .

As for photoshop I've used it alot in the past so I somehow recognize the layer, but please tell me what you think.

Sebastien , I can tell you .. one has to be careful .. but with a Mindset like this .. your not getting nowhere . There needs to be some trust in your Lady or just give it up .
Photo from a Office that looks like an Agency ? Well it would not be the first time , some of those Chnlove Women are actually working at one .. it's possible and convinient for them . Maybe they wont have to dish out $$$$$ when finding somebody ?
You need to stay positive and not put a negative spill on all her reply's , just because you have read Scam everywhere . If that was true , why even start going there ?
-
Well the story the thing is that I started talking with her, sorry she started talking with me, before I registred here. Also it's not the lady that I doubt it's the agency, you see it's the infamous P216 (infamous from what I've read and picked evrywhere), I guess I could be honest and just ask her straight up.
-
Pic looks authentic enough. Ironic with the whole photoshop team in the background though .. but thats China. When i went and had new pics for my visa extension the photographer photoshopped my pics and i looked 10 years younger. Thats just the way here. Chnlove takes it quite a step further though in many cases.
Get her off EMF and on webcam, everyone in China. And especially a young girl can get access to both computer, internet and QQ/MSN/Skype chat/cam easily. If they say they cant..... u go figure ;)
-
The Photo was taken in a enternet bar.you all are way over thinking this.Get out of your heads. And get back on course.
-
I would say it's an internet cafe also. I never saw an office with table cloths? If you want to see the agency office? Go to the ladies profile, then scroll down to the agency name and click on it. There should be pictures of the office.
As for the photoshop program? I don't know which one you have but mine is dark paneled. None I have had had white panels like the screen in the background of that photo.
-
I don't think that picture was even taken in China! HAHAHA...sorry, I wanted to jump on the band wagon. Seriously though, its good to be cautious. But you can also be over cautious to the point of defeating yourself before you even get started. I am not saying you are wrong, or right. But without risk, you will get nowhere...especially not on this site. If you are nervous of the agency, find a different lady from a different agency. There are some really good agencies out there.
-
Seb , Maxx and others are correct it is not at p216 , but at a upmarket internet cafe or at a computer function place , I have visited several cafes in Changsha and there aint no tablecloths , but as they think it normal to photoshop all photo's in China this photo could be also , regards Sujuan and Robert .
-
Actually Sebastien, this picture was taken at the Changsha Love Bridge Agency offices. I attach a picture to confirm this. Same desks, same fake pillars in the background, same kind of computers. My picture was taken in May 2009. I know the exact address, if you're interested. I was scammed, but this was before I got wise. So I would be very careful. She may go to the agency to check on her replies and maybe use their computers. She may be completely legit. But the manager of this agency is slimy and I would not put anything past him. Just be firm and settle for no less than webcam, QQ number and if you go, be careful not to sign anything. Also, think about if you want to accept their 300 yuan ride from the airport, the 400 yuan a night hotel (in the same building as the agency), and the 400 yuan a day translator.
-
Found this a little interesting? Did a little detective work and going by the columns and the blue paint I would say this is the redecorated p216. It looks like they took the red curtain down and tiled the floor? (see pics)
I would say just proceed cautiously. You can't take each word written as some sign cause they can have a wrong word in there easily, not meaning what your reading. (like my office) This could be analyzed to death but in the end it's up to you.

Philip/Vince , that's some great Work you did .. thanks a million . This is my first look into an actual Agency .. mmmh .
-
Whoa, first thank you Philip I was about to think I did something realy bad here, I'm happy to see I wasn't TOTALLY wrong. I need to apologize to everyone if I caused any trouble, that wasn't my intention and I understand what you all said, I may have jumped the gun here.

Good One...Sherlocks !!!
Can you imagine how many EMF's per day go through this place !!! And I understand that the Translators are on a quota system....must complete 12 per day or dont get paid.
So it is not hard to figure that you dont have a dedicated Translator, agonising over your every word and emotion and carefully thinking up a legitimate response to all the stuff you pour out in your letters.....!!!!!
And imagine how hard it is for a Translator to remember the details of every individual and every letter that passes through her desk every day...no wonder we get some mixed messages.
The photos simply illustrate that it is a great big money making machine, totally devoid of any emotion or warmth.....be warned.
Only way to get over this is to go to China...thats exactly when you get to know the reality...not as a result of the "process" we see happening in these photos.
-
It's funny that there are only Women in the Place . So going by Chinese Custom , this is NOT a Man's Job .. with a few exceptions . Speaking of Men , my first Translator actually was a Man ( Chinese Knot ) if anyone remembers ? He left the Agency for better work ( Translating for international Business Traveler's ) . This Job is too insecure and doesn't pay enough for Men to support a Family . Thus , so many Translator changes at Agencies and throw in BAD english .. out you go . Your costing us Money Girl !!!
-
Whoa !
You know something... after hearing all of this stuff, I'll bet that was the agency in Changsha my friend contacted and then had that no-show at the airport. That would not surprise me !
Ya, EMF's are a great cash cow ! Haha !

No need to apologize. If anything, you got some of our guys to do a little detective work. It's been awhile since we have seen Vince do some of his digging. Feel free to question anything here about the agencies, or the dating sites. We don't work for them...we are independent of all dating sites. We are here to help each other out to get through this maze of cross cultural/online dating.

I concur with Mikkie, get her onto QQ or other chat, she's not in some little village somewhere, she's in a city, not hard to get internet access. Start learning Chinese, Sunny can help you get started with that, there's also great online resources all over the place and when in doubt, Amazon and look at the reviews. It does suck that there are not many good language learning titles on Kindle yet, but hey, they are working on it. Don't be afraid to have a translator page open when chatting. Believe it or not, it helps to start jamming those characters into your memory. Which can also help with speech, a little. Nothing like actually speaking of course.
Some agencies are trash, some agencies are good, big thing, get her talking outside of EMFs. Find out what she's looking for and if she is what you are looking for. If not, move along, don't get tied up in the illusion, there are literally millions of beautiful women in China, one of them wants a funny looking western man in her life.
