Title: Is a visit possible?
Post by: Mark_in_Canada on August 28, 2011, 09:11:27 pm
After a person is married in China, and before the visa comes through, is it possible for the lady to come and visit her husband abroad?

Hi Mike, yes I see your point. Thanks for the response. Bye the way, how is your sponsorship process going? Almost there?

The UK has a different system. The successful applicant will be grant leave to remain in the UK for a period of two years. After that they have to apply in the UK for Citizenship.

This is often straight forward with couples whose ages are about the same or have been married overseas for some years.

The dificulties arise when married for short time or age differences are wide and may get called for interviews. But should the visa be granted  in China they will at least be together in the meantime with the 'leave to remain' for two years visa.
