Title: Canadian Single Certificate in China

just to let people know that the single certificate that I had prepared for me in Alberta was accepted in Hangzhou.
I sent photocopies of it to my lady and she took it to the foreign marriage registration office.
They run a check on it, takes a few days. It was verified ok!!!

Also good to know for people preparing for this step.  Mine was not accepted and I had to do a bit of running around to take care of business.  While a trip to Guangzhou is nice, it wasn't planned.

Hey Mark, I have been watching your posts for a while and I must say one thing.

You seem determined to get married on you first trip to see this lady.

I have seen your attitude change from tally-ho, to somewhat cautious, and back to full steam ahead in a very short time. I don't want to question your judgement but just mention that a man in love has no judgement. I would slow down a notch, enjoy the trip and get to know her and postpone the decision as long as possible.

So there I said it. Take it for what it's worth. I hope you know that I mean well.

Lets hope the same people are working the day you get there!

One thing I have learned in my years here is that nothing is confirmed until after the event has taken place.  Minds change in micro-seconds here (like their driver reactions).

Pineau - my sentiments entirely but it looks like the man is not for turning.

Thanks guys, for all the comments!!! You guys are more experienced than me in these matters, since you have been there, done that.
I know you guys think I am a little crazy for getting married on the first trip and maybe I am, but I will do what I feel is right for me.
I am not getting married as soon as I get off the plane, it will be a week into the trip. Is that long enough? Only I can decide for me.
She would have to be totaly opposite of what I expect for me to decline. Is it possible? A small chance I think. If I chose not to marry when I get
there because we are not compatable then I will say "no thanks".
You guys might think I am crazy, but actually I expect it to be better than I imagine now.  I think when we meet in the airport, our bond will be cemented!!! It is true, we are in love.
There are great moments in a persons life that he will always remember. For me, the birth of my two sons was that moment. And now, going to Hangzhou to marry the woman I love will be the next!!!
This will be one Birthday to remember, Sept 21 in Hangzhou near the West Lake with my baby!!! Life does not get any better!!!
