Robert , this made me think too .. did this Forum reach it's Peak ? Are we now on the way to slowly disintegrate into thinner Air ? I've been thinking lately , we haven't heard much from .. well even our Mod's that are now with there Lady ( Irish,Chong,Maxx and Martin is now only a here and now show up ) . I know some of us want to keep things to themselves/private . I've been pretty much open about all kinds of things in my Journey , but I can not uphold this Forum singlehandedly . I myself get bored coming here , as there is not much new coming in .. in large stretches .
We need Vince to get over there and report some exciting stuff for all of us . ;D ;D
-
Maybe my new post about Chinese dishes will get some chit-chat agoing! 8)
-
Well, truthfully now that Martin has found a 7'6" Norwegian woman, everything is going downhill. ;D
Only joking of course.
-
I would hazard a guess that with the official site expanding their portfolio to include things like on-line chat features and call a friend, that more possible new clients smell something fishy and are less willing to take a chance. Also when this site first started, we had many people coming over from the official site when it offered just basic features. We were curious enough to search out others about the seriousness of the site. So yes, I think a critical mass has been reached as evidence of way less newbies taking the plunge and sharing their experiences with us on this site.
-
Then maybe this site needs to expand in a way that the "official" site is unwilling to. Maybe offering different kinds of information in regard to dating and marrying Chinese women.
-
not had any excitement in here since myself and.... ::)

Isn;t that what we have been doing shuan? ::) ::) ;D ;D

Yea,
The agencies/ Hong Kong have made a few changes also to combat honesty and ease of researching shady profiles. The old system used the first 4 characters of the ladies ID number to show her agency, that has been changed now so the girls have no common easy to spot denominator linking them to a specific agency. Now the who's who list is pretty useless for identifying agencies to avoid.

We need my ex-mother in law. She is the type that if nothing is happening then she will start something. (trouble that is)
Today is moon day. We are headed out to lunch with the family. Should be fun. If your bored come on over and we will find something to do. We can invent some new drinking games.
The weather is starting to cool off and its bearable outside now.
-
I'm heading back in December for Christmas with my wife's family. Well, Christmas with no snow. I'll try to introduce them to some Christmas customs. I also haven't had any new news to report. My wife misses me and I miss her. I wish I could be there, to wait with her. I really should be, but I have responsibilities here.
I never visit the official site, or forums. Has anyone advertised our site to the forums lately? New blood is always interesting, but we've really grown into a bit of a "married med" clique.
-
Will have more to report in April when the baby is due.......
-

I was so close and I have my plan of reporting here and how, but four days before settlement my lawyer past away. So? All I can say is I swear I will dance on my ex's grave.
-
Dang Vince. I'm sorry to hear that. It's like that old song, "if it weren't for bad luck, I'd have no luck at all..."
All I can say is keep plugging away, you'll get where you need to be eventually.
-
Yeah been saying that allot lately along with one step forward two steps back.
-
Man Vince , does anything come easy for you ? I guess your wonderful Daughters keep you from going Crazy and loosing it with this Ex of yours . Can't tell you to Hang in there , when that is all you do already . I know you do your best and I really hope you find that wonderful Chinese Woman that will make you forget all that is in the Past .

Hey I got an idea for a reality show - Lets call it "The Ex Factor". Every week we can explore how an Ex factors into messing up our life. Then we can give a big sigh man when frustration sets in. :o
-
Rhonald great idea but I don't think this site is big enough for that. ::)
-
I think one of the bigger problems here, is the lack of new members. This is most likely because many of us don't go to the official much anymore. I don't know if anyone is "plugging" this site over there. I certainly don't go over there, with all the bad blood between myself and some of the regulars over there. And since I just found out I have a very tall norwegian woman...hahaha...forget it...too funny. We need more new members, and somehow, motivate them to be active, and actually make their presence known.
-
I go to the other once in a while but don't post anymore. I do "plug" on the facebook page thou.
-
what is the "other" one? I'm kinda clueless on that aspect being that I did find this site in a very roundabout way starting with google....
-
The other one is the Chnlove forum (aka the official).
-
The other site, as Vince said, is the official as we call it here. Most members started out using the chnlove.com web site to meet a lady. Their forum is heavily moderated. Each post by members needs to be read by a moderator before it is posted. You can ask a question there, and might be days before your question is ever posted for the world to see. Since most members find this forum through that forum, that is where we dropped our name from time to time. But since most of us have moved past that site, we aren't plugging this site anymore.
-
I think Martin you've hit the nail on the head.
-
Sadly, I must admit, I've never liked the official site, as far as the forum anyway. Totally sucked, hated waiting for answers and like everyone else here, kind of past using them. Being the current situation.
-
I think Martin you've hit the nail on the head.
aahhhhhh .. no Shaun , he hit my Thumb ! I should have not held that Nail for Him .
I agree ! We are getting new members .. but their Posting is brief to none excisting and are not making full use that is at their Disposal here .
-
But we have so many informative post in numerous threads that newcomers can find the answers without having to ask the questions.
Maybe it has run its course. I don't know.
I have noted of late that the banter has started to return in small quantities. That was a quality this forum had over others. But then we all got warned off for too much and just after that the interest seemed to wane.
Also, like radio, you need a few shock jockeys to keep it active. But they have gone by the wayside - ever voluntary of not.
Maybe we should open it up to going further than just China - Phillipines, Thailand, Vietnam - in fact any country outside the western world. The same principles will apply for getting your wives back to your own countries just the proceedure in each will be different.
Make need a different name as well.

I think you are probably right when you note that there is now so much info. here that people who visit the site can find most of what they are looking for ??
I see every time I log on that there are many "guests" viewing, but only few posts/intros for newbies.
I am not sure I agree that the site may have run its race.
But for the "old timers" and now married Men, it is not easy to know what others want from the site. I am sure that nobody wants a day by day, account of my life with Ming in Perth...most of it is just the usual living together stuff...and the other bits are private ;D ;D ;D
I know that we all are ready and willing to help anybody who needs it...they just gotta ask !!!
ps....Robbie....you asked what happened to my hand......a picture says a thousand words....here it is !!!...hope it does not upset your breafast !!!!
-
Boy the last time I saw those kind of Stitches , was on a Stuffed Pork Roast . I sure hope this will heal well for you , but also imagine at our Age .. it will slow the healing part down somewhat . Anyway , I know for sure this freaked out your Ming to say the least . Take care of it David , you do write with your Right I hope ?
-
that will teach you David to try and take the last dumpling when Ming wants it instead.........
Ouch and double ouch. Hope you are healing well mate.
-
ooowwww! I had less stitching on my back after surgery.
Hope your doing better?
-
You notice he hasn't said exactly what happened.
I hope at least it was planned surgery rather than a mishap. I do know that if it was a mishap that hell will freeze over before she will let you near whatever it was. Gotta love 'em.
-
Hahaha Shaun
I am kinda embarrassed about the nature of my injury..........and mightily pissed off about it as well !!!!
Ming was pestering me to show her one of my radio controlled model helicopters actually flying...
so....because I did not want to treck up to the flying field with a larger model, I dug out a small beast that I have not flown for some time, so I could "show-off" in the back yard.
Being ever prudent and cautious around these dangerous models (they have carbon fibre main blades that go at 2000 rpm) I decided to do a quick run-up check for blade tracking on the patio.
As the motor spooled up, a main blade fractured at the root and came flying off.....I just had time to put my hand up to protect my face (yes, I was wearing safety specs) and so the blade caught me across the back of the hand, neatly severing 4 tendons and 3 major nerves......
To say that the patio looked like an abbatoir is an understatement...but Ming did not panic, she wrapped the whole thing in a clean towel, dashed over the road and asked our neighbor to call an ambulance.
From that point, she has been magnificent, she takes care of me with total dedication and competance...she is fantastic
But I doubt she will let me near a model helicopter for ever again !!!
cheers...David

Ah, accidents happen, nothing to feel embarrassed about there David. If anything, be glad it was the hand and not the nose. I'm glad you're healing up and you've got a great nurse.
-
Well at least your reactions were good that you used your hand to save your face. But then again, I guess you feel a little embarrassed in losing face over such a weird accident! It is a gruesome picture but I am sure happy it was not more serious. Welcome back David and speedy healing.
-
Absolutely welcome back and a speedy recovery and there is absolutely nothing to be embarrassed about. They are called accident for a reason. What would be scary and embarrassing is if it was on purpose. But I know your are gin great hands being more than well cared for by a loving wife.
-
Does anybody remember Vic Morrow , well with him it was a Real Helicopter that got the best of him way back when . Goes to show , these are NOT Toys by any means .. they may look like it though . I stick to the 4 inch Platic model , even that was always out of Control with me at the Controls . Love to see them in Action , but I can not even close to get them to stay up there for more than 5 seconds . Now that is embarrassing :-[ .
-
You may have to go back to the Helicopter with a rubber band motor? Safer at least.
-
David E , that sure was a nasty injury and Sujuan and I wish you a speedy recovery , but depending on to whom you are talking you being a Westie could always say that is the way you always catch sharks , but this one was a Great White , with sharper teeth .
-
Thanks David...and OUCH...I also had an op on my right elbow 2 weeks ago. got to wait another 6 months before op on left elbow (again).
best of luck mate
-
Robbie...
It is often said that the true definition of a Gentleman is that he "always takes the weight on his elbows"...(work that one out !!!)
So it seems that you have been too much of a Gentleman somewhere and buggered up your elbows !!!( dont do it on concrete any more) ;D ;D ;D....maybe its your turn on the bottom......easier on yer elbows..... ;) ;) ;)

I bet she was pleased that it didn't go for a 'googly to the middle wicket' otherwise you would not be bowling a certain maiden over for many innings.

I hate to be the one to ask, but actually being a rotorhead (helicopter crewman) in the army for a few years, I have to ask... Did you forget your preflight? and How long since you've had that one out? Static storage is a helicopters worst enemy, toy or real. and before anyone makes a comment on 'static' that would be an aviation term for 'collecting dust'
good job taking in the arm instead of the face, I doubt the face would have healed as well, I seem to remember those blades like to shatter and have a 'shotgun' effect on the face...
