These question go out the members that have gone through this. When your wife gets the call to go for the interview, how much time is there between the call and the actual interview?
And do you think it makes any difference if you were there with her at the interview or not?
Thanks in advance for any help!!!
Mark

I can't remember exactly...I think it was around a month. I was not there, and it didn't make a difference.
-
thanks Martin, so I assume she got the Visa?
-
Yes, she got the Visa...I just looked at my old blog, and it was about 5 or 6 weeks notification that she got...plenty of time. She did get a visa. The rest is a long story.

Hi Mark, My wife had her interview in Shanghai , It was only after informing our case officer that I was going to spend 10 days with my wife in September, so our case officer asked us both if we would like to make our own appointment for the interview, And yes I was there with my wife for the interview, My wife was interviewed first for about 30 minutes and then i was asked to join them both and then i was also asked some questions about family and and how we met , This is the stage we are at now, Waiting for the good news, John.

thanks guys, this is good info.
another question-Is the Visa given the same day, or is it sent out, and if sent out, how long did it take to receive it?
Thanks!!!
Mark

John, do you think , you being there, made a difference in her getting the Visa or not?
Thanks

Don't forget John was at the Australian office. The Canadian office is the one you need info on. Things seem to be working very fast for you.

Back to .. should I be there with my Lady at the Interview ? Like Martin has said , it is not necessary .. but it can make a difference which I'm sure in my case it did . All this Guy looked at was my Passport ( which I gave to my Wife to take in with her ) and a couple Photo's . So he knew I was there at of course having Visa's in there for four Trips didn't hurt either . Like I have mentioned before , we were well prepared with all the Papers/Proof you can imagine .. never needed . But you never know what they'll ask for .
For me it was good and helped ( US ) for you Mark ??? It depends on soooo many things , so this just comes down to having one more Trump Card in YOUR hand .

thanks Arnold, how long after the interview did she receive the Visa?
-
Remember Arnold is an American so you can not draw conclusions being that you are going through a different consulate.

This website I followed for my Hong Kong processing times. Beijing thread is a little old, but by searching the web site you will see some other threads related to either China or Beijing in general.

thanks Rhonald for the info
-
Hi Rhonald, I checked out the link you supplied-it was excellent, very good information, most of it seems very positive as well. It would seem like most
applications are successfull.
Thanks!

Mark , don't let that fool you .. this might only look so here with our Member's .. but acually be total opposite .
Again , the more Proof you safe/have between you two the better .
Qing received her's in four days after the Interview from the Post Office in Guangzhou . Like Rhonald said , it's for the US and not Canada .. similar but different .
-
Beijing has a much better success rate than Hong Kong does. If everything is in order, and you marriage is legitimate, then you should not have anything to worry about. She will get the visa back that day, if I recall. The visa will be good for a few months...I think 6 months, but I am not certain about that. It leaves plenty of time for her to tie up any loose ends in China.
-
thanks guys !!! This is a fairly stressfull time ....the waiting, thanks for making me feel better!!!

I have another question. For the people that did not attend their wives interview, did the embassy call you for a phone interview?
Just would like to know if anyone was called, and what to expect.
Thanks Again!

My wife went for the interview in Montreal by herself and was granted the visa after they interviewed her.
I didn't receive any call from the consulate.

But it sounds as if she was already in Canada by then. Mark was enquiring about interviews in China.

Ah, sorry, it's a different case then: my wife was in fact already a Canadian citizen at that time, and she immigrated to US to join me.
-
I can only speak from my experience. But I was not contacted by the embassy.
-
You have not been married that long Mark! I know your impatient to get your wife to Canada. So can someone actually tell him how long it will be on averasge for that to happen if they accept all the paperwork is correct and in order.
