I presented my friend in London a packet of Chicken Feet on Monday. His wife was nearly sick but his dog loved them, claws and all.  At least he cannot wait until I come back again. ;D

Willy

I was going to take Chiicken feet to Scottish Rob but then I remembered he already had his own. ;D ;D ;D

Hah !!!....the dreaded chicken feet......

I share the same aversion to this gastronomical abomination, along with duck's guts !!!

To avoid culinary friction in our idyllic household, Ming eats all of the more repulsive Chinese foods when she goes out with her girl friends on Thursday nights. This way, my sanity is preserved, and her love for this sort of food is not constrained.....out of sight, out of mind.

Mind you, she gets very squeamish when I enjoy a pair of Kippers for my breakfast !!!

I remember the chicken feet ...didn't think they were half bad, just a lot of work for little sustenance .......but what the heck are kippers????

Kippers are a traditional English breakfast dish....they are split, smoked Herrings (fish) and taste very salty, oily, rancid and smoky !!!

They are supposed to be eaten with marmalade (orange jelly) but I prefer them with just bread and butter.

I dare not breathe anywhere Ming for the rest of the day...she says the Kipper smell makes her ill !!!   ;) ;)

However, not half so ill as I feel as she demolishes a dish of raw ducks guts ...... :-[ :-[ :-[

I think I'm ready to hurl now!!!

Kind of nice knowing that after two and a half months spent raising these little guys by hand nothing is going to go to waste ;D
but that whole kipper thing .....that's just gross  :o

I'm with David here, I also love Kippers. I'll eat them for Lunch though, so plenty of time to get rid of the Fish breath and the Cats following me around.

About the Chicken feet, Qing loves them .. but will not buy them at the Asian market. Because she's nice and knows I don't. I do have a strong stomach though, I wouldn't really care what she makes for herself in the Kitchen.

For fun I was going through this thread again.  What is that off white thing with the chicken feet?  A congealed Chicken turd?

Do you really want to know?  Sometimes, not knowing is better.  :P

That is the eye ball of a foreigner whose eyes popped out when he saw what he had to eat!!!

I sit at home in front of the TV and tear open a bag of nuts.  My wife tears open a pair if prepacked chicken feet!!!

Do you ever have that yearning to share with your partner?  NOT on your nelly mate. My wife is not going to be chewing on my nuts and I will leave her feet alone.

What to say...  What to say...  What to say...

So many things that run through my mind but I dare not post.

Wife:  What did you say?   Husband: Nutin honey.

What ever you do, if you bring a Chinese woman to a western country you must forbid them to say peanuts.   Think about it.  She could say, "My husband likes to eat peanuts."   The horror of it all.   But it sure will bring your friends to great laughter.

I am quite happy to concede that Kippers came from Scotland.

Does not alter the fact that they are delicious  ;D ;D ;D

Shaun, you are right. I have not found a Chinese woman that can say peanuts no matter how many times you teach them.  Sometimes I think they are just messing with my head.

Jing said it wrong and so does Fiona. If you hyphenate it then they get it right.  pea-nuts.

Here I have my LaoPo saying "Donnerwetter Ausgezeichnet" perfectly pronounced German, had my Uncle&Aunt laughing when they heard Qing saying that to them. It is a ball, when she  :-\ shocks  :-\  People like that. :o
I've got to try the Peanuts thing yet.
