I'm kind of curious. How many people check into this site just to read what is going on? Comment on this thread just to let us know that you are alive and kicking. If you feel like it give us a brief overview as to what is going on in your life.
-
Still alive. Still waiting for my info from immigration - they were supposed to give it to me within 120 days. It has been 6 months and still nothing. I just returned from a 2 week vacation with my lovely wife.

I'm still alive and kicking ;D ;D

As you all know I just occasionally come to the forum and sit quietly in the corner. ::)

I'm still here......
Getting ready for my "official" retirement in June 2013. Lots of loose ends to clear up Business-wise, lots of paperwork to complete for numerous Govt. Departments.
Being more and more a "house husband" and supporting my dear Wife who is working all hours teaching Chinese to second and third generation Chinese/Aussie children who's parents want them to re-learn Chinese reading, writing and speaking.
Might get time for a holiday somewhere nice in the New Year.....if only Ming would stop working for a week or so.....sigh :( :(
-
Still stop in here.
-
I try to check here everyday if possible.
Just started to make copy's of household papers, Insurance, etc tonight. Linda and Ziwei are in the 90 day peroid now to apply for permanent Green Card. I want to get that done soon as I can.
Everything going good, Linda does not have driver license yet but drove a comdine in the beans last two harvests. Ziwei has been on the honor roll every grading peroid since she has been here. Just got her report card all A's and one A-. Wish I could say reminds me of me but I wont.

I usually check this site everyday to see what is going on. I stay pretty busy with my other sites and my work, so I do not post here very often anymore unless someone needs some assistance or an opinion!

I totally cease to function whenever the temperature drops below 26 C....how would I go in B-in- F where I am told that on a warm day the temp actually gets above zero !!!!...also, having just learned that you dont drink, and I dont like to drink alone....how would we go :-\ :-\ :-\....much better you come to sunny Aus...and bring Willy with you.

Still check in to see what is going on. Xia and Laura are both great, one getting teeth (got 2 middle bottom ones) and the other is trying to study the road rules book so she can get her licence. Just got an email from CHNLOVE saying someone I do not know has replied to an email that I have never sent. Funny seeing I have not been on there for probably 2 years or more now since Xia and I first met and I do not have any credits there either.
-
I'm here, listening, reading. :)
I prepare to write report about my trip in Qingdao. It could be done during our long weekend because of Halloween breaks.
-
Hi I check in here form time to time, sometimes week betweens.
After a few trips to China, I was lucky to find my loved one just 10 minutes drive from home. A beautiful vietnamese woman who had lived i Norway for more than 25 years, speak the language and hold a Norwegian passport. Saved me a lot of trouble ;) Now we are selling our places to move into a appartment which we bougth "off plan", appartment are planned finished within the next 12 months. Before that we will get married in may. Her daugther is moving to uni abroad and my nephew, which I have lived with me for the last 12 years. Is also moving out to go to higher education.
Life are so different from the first visit to Cina som 5-6 years ago, I also learned a lot about myself and life since the first short postings on the facebook group. Remember sitting in a hotel in Guangzhou and trying to post on the most unstabile internet connection. Ahhh...these were the days....
Life looks good and busy,

Your right David, B and F's are the words I often use about that place. Now getting to Aus will be a great idea. Trouble is the Wee Scottish one does not even drink halves. (Well pints would be out of the question anyway). But the speed he scampers around I bet he could keep our glasses full while we sat back and enjoyed a spell of watching leather on willow.
Willy
OK so who is going to ask w t f is leather on willow.
-
Willy I would say that it is another one of those terms the British use to confound the world with but I do happen to know that willow on leather means the ball hitting the bat in cricket.
Thank you for those who have commented I am enjoying the updates. Please update us and as Arnold would say with pictures.

I still come here for awhile I had lost the site and could not find it as my computer had crashed.A friend here gave me the url.I enjoy reading all the information over and over .Very informative Ron

I'm here sir, my apologies for being a little late for roll call, but I had good reason.
Previously I was here on duty almost everyday (since my trip to China in May), in the quiet corner opposite Willy.
But for the whole of October I have been AWOL because my GF (now fiancée) has been here with me in NZ.
Anna got her passport, visa, employment leave, tickets, and arrived here for a month with just 1 very small suitcase which was mostly filled with generous gifts for all my family and friends. She left with 3 suitcases and several shopping bags full of gifts for her family and friends.
I'll report the details later (well not all the details), but suffice it to say things are going very well, she loved it here, but we now have a long wait until we can be married in about a year's time. Then all the immigration stuff starts for her and her daughter, and no doubt I'll be needing more advice then.
Steve (from sunny, and dry for a change, Auckland)
-
Steve, you must be flogged with 100 wet noodles. We will send our representative there soon so be on the watch out for...
By the way thanks for the update.
-
Still here wasting away in mosquitoville.
-
Tis only me here , always nosing around , Sujuan is back in Shenyang at present , for a couple of months , bought a new unit has had it fitted out so no more hotel bills and somewhere for her Mum and sister to stay when they visit from out of town , over there it would seem more than 50 km is out of town , here I drive that far for a good feed , nevertheless she was kind enough to leave me with 3 minders , so I can go out so long as I take one of them with me ha ha , but with qq and her other lines of communication she is running her business here via a manageress and overseeing her Chinese interests on the ground , all I have to do is remember not to dance to close to my minders ha ha ;) .
-
I'm here now and again, but life is life and keeping me busy. Married life is great, we are weighing the options of business in Handan and she doesn't believe me that as an Accountant, I know how to run businesses in multiple cities, let alone two different countries. Oh the joy of ERP software. Now if Laolao would just stay out of our business...
-
I am enjoying life in Chongqing with my wife waiting for my first-born to make an appearance, probably next month. I check in here most days.
-
I am new, Arnold pointed me here, I had seen the site doing a web-search some time ago, but I am a newbie and just now starting to get off the EMF and try translation avenues outside of the agency, first stop QQ
James

Welcome JC anything you need t know, just ask buddy all will be answered... ;D
-
Usually check in most days. Jing & I go back almost 2 years now. Life is good, getting better.
I remind myself of my solo years, stranded in the wilderness, looking into the warm glow of
the 'good' life. Now :)
I would not change a thing. Maybe there is something about 'fate' after all.

James welcome, glad you joined us here! Like Robbie said, just ask if you happen not to find an answer here already.
As one can see, I'm pretty much here every day! I have to, otherwise Martin wont Pay me the little I get as an Mod. Let's see.... $ 0 minus more $ 0's = More 0000's!

James, Qing and I tried to call Min for you.. but her Phone was turned off. It was 12 noon in China at the time, so she might be at work and can not have a cell-phone with her on "On". We will try again tomorrow and some later in the week and we'll see. I'm eager to hear her voice too for the first time, as you know she's my little "Sister".

Hello, Everyone. I am still here and check in to the forum every now and then. Everything is good here in Virginia. LiLi and I were married in April. Didn't get papers sent in until July so still waiting on Green card. Hopefully by January. We did manage to get her a State I.D. card, though, so she can fly around the U.S. when we want to. She is now studying for her Drivers permit. Took the exam the first time last week, but did not pass. She had to take the exam in English, so she didn't understand all the questions. Didn't phase her though, she is ready to take it again next week. This time we will have someone to translate the questions for her. She had never driven before I put her behind the wheel in a vacant parking lot this summer, so I know this will be an experience teaching her to drive when she can actually get out "on the road". She is also taking English classes and coming along pretty good in that also. We have very little problem communicating, but sometimes I have to pull the translator out. She is spitting fire to go to work, but I am trying to hold her back another few weeks until our trip back to the Midwest with family for Thanksgiving. Speaking of which, Everyone have a very nice Turkey Day if I don't get to say it again.
Don

Good to hear that things are working out good for you and Lili, Don.
That is a great photo of you both as well.
Linda was just saying today that she needed to get back to work studying for driver license. I think that is a big challenge for them.

Yes Kenny, big challenge and dare to think if she would fail for any reason. My Blog describes what Qing went through in detail (if you haven't looked already), she was not a happy Camper and not just with the DMV. It effected all/everybody that knew us then. A unhappy Chinese Woman... watch out!
Don, I also think that is a great Photo of you two... and best wishes!

Hi guys, It has been a long time since I have been here. I will post a new thread about where I am at, as I have been around the world for sixpence here in Australia. Good to catch up with my good old friends on this site.
