I am starting this thread to gather a list of the places and countries that your wife/GF ca travel with you with only a USA green Card.
We already know that MEXICO and CANADA will allow her entry with only a Chinese passport and a green card.
Someone implied that she could go anywhere I can without a visa as long as she has her Chinese passport and Green card. I am not sure that is always true. I tried to take Jing with me to Singapore and they made her get a tourist VISA because she was Chinese. Even though she had her green card..
Have the rules changed. Does anyone know.
In particular I want to be able to go to Europe, Singapore and Japan. If you have experience her please post your experience.
I am sure a lot of guys wonder about this as well. But a green car holder does not need a visa to travel to Mexico.
From the Mexican consulate in Denver.
Mr. Pineo:
If your wife is a holder of a valid Chinese passport, and a USA green card, she can visit Mexico as a tourist; both of you will receive the Tourist forms before landing or at the first pint of immigration entrance.
Sincerely yours,
Blanca Martinez,

Tourist Travel: U.S. citizens do not require a visa or a tourist card for tourist stays of 72 hours or less within the 20-30 kilometer “border zone". U.S. citizens traveling as tourists beyond the “border zone”, or entering Mexico by air, must pay a fee to obtain a tourist card, also known as an FMM, available from Mexican consulates, Mexican border crossing points, Mexican tourism offices, airports within the border zone, and most airlines serving Mexico. The fee for the tourist card is generally included in the price of a plane ticket for travelers arriving by air. U.S. citizens fill out the FMM form; Mexican immigration retains the larger portion and the traveler is given the smaller right-hand portion. This FMM is normally white, blue, and green in color. It is extremely important to keep this form in a safe location. Mexican immigration agents and federal police have the authority to ask for proof of legal status in Mexico and, on occasion, U.S. citizens without documents have been detained by police. Travelers should always carry a photocopy of their passport data page and FMM. Upon exiting the country at a Mexican National Institute of Migration (INM) departure check point, U.S. citizens are required to turn in this form. Travelers who lose their FMM can be significantly delayed and possibly fined upon departure. Travelers who enter Mexico by land and fail to obtain to an FMM are usually required to pay a fine upon departure. For more information visit the INM website.

You will note that the United Kingdom is not listed even though it is a member of the European Union. So if you travel to the UK from any of these listed countries you will still need to show passports etc when you arrive.

Wow, that pretty much covers Europe. (and you don't need a VISA to get her into the first point of entry???)
Now I need Japan and Singapore. Has anyone ever taken your Chinese wife there?
-
Yes, Ming and I went to Singapore for a visit...she needed a tourist visa. Was easy and no fuss.
She did not need a visa for Bali or Thailand.

I do not know if you need a visa to enter the first country - I think US citizens need one to enter the UK.

Willy,
A Schengen visa, also called "C" visa, is a short stay visa (up to 90 days by semester) valid for the 26 States member of the Schengen agreement unless indicated otherwise on your visa:
Austria Belgium Czech Republic Denmark Estonia Finland France
Germany Greece Hungary Iceland Italy Latvia Liechtenstein
Lithuania Luxembourg Malta The Netherlands Norway Poland Portugal
Slovakia Slovenia Spain Sweden Switzerland
BUT you must have a VISA for the point of entry.
