I hear that The US Senate has passed a recommendation to allow 11 million 'undocumented residents' otherwise illegal immigrants to become full citizens. I think that this relates to the children of illegals born in the USA but once completed I can see no reason why these millions will not apply for their parents to 'join' them thus swelling the official population by many more millions.
Will this make taking your foreign brides back to the USA easier or more difficult in the future as they should have more time to spend dealing with applications from those seeking to take partners to the USA.
Willy

Like Mike said, the children born here are citizens automatically! That is why many women try to give birth here so their child will have US citizenship. This is a very big and lucrative business in many large cities in the US. The foreign ladies travel here when they are about 7 months pregnant and stay until they give birth. Now the parents have a designated petitioner 21 years down the line, unless they decide to stay like the south of the border crowd does. Pretty much is a circle jerk for votes in my opinion. I think once they are here legally, they will begin voting for a living like many others do! Until the idiots actually begin enforcing immigration laws that exist already and secure the borders they are just pissing in the wind. Our elected leaders will do what they always do and vote for whatever they think will keep their corrupt a$$es in office.
-
Can't see any good happening from this. It just slows down the process for those wanting to come here legally. Since it is a congressional mandate now all of the 11 million will move to the front of the line to be processed.
-
This is the Liberal Senate, sometimes I think they pass really outlandish stuff just to look good in the liberal media knowing the Republican House will stop it, then the media can blame them. I see that is some manner congress has sunk so low as to be puppets and show-men/women rather than respected leaders with wisdom and integrity.
My take is when you take the reverent fear of God out then it is a free-for-all.
Just my take,
I do believe the whole system needs an over haul, and the same for the IRS, I like the fair tax platform.
James
-
JC,
The fair tax will never pass because it is fair. It takes all the incentive from the politicians and the wealthy. They want the burden of the taxes to be on the middle class.
-
I'm waiting for the U.S. government to supply arms to the rebels of this country.
-
The fair tax would cause a lot of changes, especially with the lobbying and other perverted stuff.
I think many people do not realize the supreme court ruling was a tax issue and not a gay and lesbian matter.
If the immigration reform changed and implemented the e-visa, and the system actually worked to eliminate or curtail the over-stay issue, then the visa applications should be easier with less scrutiny with regards to the current mind set that without other clear evidence every visa issued is assumed an over stay.
If the political aspect was removed this would have been done 10 years ago.
Anyway, again just my take.

Hey FiveTrout,
Did the 1.4 billion aid to the Muslim Brotherhood last week qualify??

It's time for Obama to relinquish the Noble Peace Prize!

These have been very interesting replies and I thank Shaun as his was the only one that really touched my original question.
As for Chinabounds copy and past report from a certain John Dillon - well that just left me confused as my question had nothing to do with sealing the borders etc. Which was a similar vein others took up.
Just one comment from me a person may in reality be born in the USA but that does not necessarily make him/her an American likewise a person born in UK will not always be 'English'.
I can only think of Phillip who has had a child out here in China. Would that make his child Chinese and also English or would his nationality depend on other circumstances?

JC “...rather than respected leaders with wisdom and integrity.”
“My take is when you take the reverent fear of God out then it is a free-for-all.” You funny man!
I do not blame God for our political patheticism.
The current U.S. Congress, of which you so elegantly present tinsel rap & all, sits at it's historical the present...10%. A shitty 10%! Whoopy do!
http://dailycaller.com/2013/06/13/congressional-approval-falls-to-lowest-point-in-history/
Kinda funny. Bill Clinton's latest approval ratings, “..the most recent Gallup poll showed Clinton with nearly 70% approval rating..” http://www.politico.com/story/2013/06/bill-clinton-paradox-92948.html
The same Bill Clinton who “..left office with the highest end-of-office approval rating of any U.S. president since World War II”. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_Clinton
I think China women would not be comfortable for long in a Republican bedroom.
Back to business.
I would imagine bringing your China spouse/ finance to America..nothing changes. The sheer volume of proposed law would preclude that. I think RobertS probably has a better idea on where this may go.
Also, he has better information on legal immigration.
Anyway, http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/types/types_1306.html
Immediate Relative Immigrant Visas (Unlimited): These visa types are based on a close family relationship with a United States (U.S.) citizen described as an Immediate Relative (IR). The number of immigrants in these categories is not limited each fiscal year. Immediate relative visa types include:
IR-1: Spouse of a U.S. Citizen - Learn More
IR-2: Unmarried Child Under 21 Years of Age of a U.S. Citizen
IR-3: Orphan adopted abroad by a U.S. Citizen - Learn More
IR-4: Orphan to be adopted in the U.S. by a U.S. citizen - Learn More
IR-5: Parent of a U.S. Citizen who is at least 21 years old
Family Preference Immigrant Visas (Limited): These visa types are for specific, more distant, family relationships with a U.S. citizen and some specified relationships with a Lawful Permanent Resident (LPR). There are fiscal year numerical limitations on family preference immigrants, shown at the end of each category. The family preference categories are:
Family First Preference (F1): Unmarried sons and daughters of U.S. citizens, and their minor children, if any. (23,400)
Family Second Preference (F2): Spouses, minor children, and unmarried sons and daughters (age 21 and over) of LPRs. At least seventy-seven percent of all visas available for this category will go to the spouses and children; the remainder is allocated to unmarried sons and daughters. (114,200)
Family Third Preference (F3): Married sons and daughters of U.S. citizens, and their spouses and minor children. (23,400)
Family Fourth Preference (F4): Brothers and sisters of U.S. citizens, and their spouses and minor children, provided the U.S. citizens are at least 21 years of age. (65,000)
Note: Grandparents, aunts, uncles, in-laws, and cousins cannot sponsor a relative for immigration.

"The same Bill Clinton who “..left office with the highest end-of-office approval rating of any U.S. president since World War II”. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_Clinton (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_Clinton)"
Yes! The same one who on his watch caused the housing bubble to develop. Actually, I think his popularity stems from cigar aficionado lovers!))))
-
Yes Willy,
Regarding the basis of your question, the Dreamers got rubber stamped, under this Admin I would think the same would be done for the same group regarding the parents, as they want that segments votes more than a secure system. I do not see this clogging up the works, plus it seems they are making this a 3 to 10 year waiting period, no one has addressed the issue of counting the previous years here as that, so there is a potential loop-hole for lawyers to make a buck from.
Because fixing the system does not seem to trump the political positioning whatever changes that are made will probably be resisted and sabotaged by political adversaries. China is sporting a strong economy so since they backed off buying all our debt maybe congress will look at changes to China's status, but that is wishful at best. That would probably mean changing China status to a VWP country, I think that is possible since Taiwan is. but not likely. I think it is all broken I am new here, but would like to ask if anyone has had success with using law-firms to expedite visa's?? That
JohnB,
The Chinese ladies I know are very financially astute, giving money away and worrying about that later seems to be the Democratic ticket to win elections, why do you say a Chinese woman would not be happy in a Republican bedroom. Also my comment was not that God was at fault, rather those who did not have any fear of God were, I guess I meant to say when there is only "Self" in control you get "Selfish". But that was not really what the post was for so sorry!!
I have been trying to help several families here, one mother and daughter from South Korea, they got left behind from a failed marriage years ago, I was told by an immigration attorney that in some cases the legal system can intervene. But that is not really a solution. The latest "Dream Act" thing was helpful but only kicked the can. Now there is just legalized confusion.

"..law-firms to expedite visa's??"
My wife's immigration was one day shy of seven months. Could have been faster except for a few China holidays delaying the process.
I utilized a para- legal in Shenyang. My wife's documentation was a disaster. All the docs were corrected, translated into English, & notarized. My out of pocket para- legal costs were around $800 if I remember. Accuracy is paramount! I completed the American side of the ledger & submitted all the documentation to USCIS/ NVC with the help of this website's illustrious 'one-and-only immigration expert', Robert Snellgrove, an invaluable service if there was ever one.
"..The Chinese ladies I know are very financially astute, giving money away.."
Buddha must like you! I have to give my money to my wife.

re ;Clinton. "Yes! The same one who on his watch caused the housing bubble to develop."
There were housing bubbles forever. My recollection, the late 70's, late 80's, late 90's, mid- 2000.
The 'cheap money' liquefaction by Alan Greenspan after 9/11 was the latest catalyst.
Greenspan was a total piece of shit. Clinton should have dumped his sorry ass after the
Wall Street's 'hedge fund' embryo reared in the early 90's.
-
Of course Barney Frank and his buddy are not mentioned with their fanny mae and freddie mac debacle that destroyed the economy.
-
I still say letting Leaman brothers go to the wall was the biggest mistake the US Government ever made. It was the straw that broke the camels back. It destroyed the faith that people had in banks.
I can see that millions upon millions new hispanic votes could spell the end of the US two party system. But that is a danger in its self. You end up with coalition government that has shafted the UK in the past three years. But there again it is short lived and one party in that co-alition is heading for complete melt down in the next round of elections.

It's not only the "South of the Borders" to worry about. This is Long Island, New York. My old Hood.
Feds Seize Long Island 7-Elevens For Hiring Illegal Immigrants
Earlier morning, federal agents seized 14 7-Eleven stores on Long Island and arrested their owners and managers for allegedly hiring and harboring illegal immigrants. It was reportedly a "nationwide sweep involving hundreds of agents."
The indictment will be unsealed later today, but the NY Times reports that nine people are being charged and that the charges will include "wire fraud and aggravated identity theft stemming from payment of employees who were unauthorized immigrants using the Social Security numbers of children and the dead." Also, the Social Security number of a former employee was apparently used—and the former employee was being hounded by the IRS during the period the illegal immigrant was using the SS number!
According to NBC New York, "some owners of the raided franchises allegedly helped traffic in workers from Pakistan to work in their stores. Those workers were then allegedly forced to live in housing provided by the franchise owners, authorities said." And Newsday reports, "A typical undocumented worker was forced to work up to 100 hours a week, but only paid for about half of that, with the owners and managers pocketing the rest, the sources said." Most of the undocumented workers were from Southeast Asia.
A source told Newsday that "[while] undocumented workers may be picked up for questioning, no criminal arrests are planned against them, except possibly for being in the country illegally." In fact, prosecutors are mostly looking for payment from the stores and from 7-Eleven corporate (the franchisees and corporate, which handles payroll, split profits) to the tune of $30 million.
Further, dozens of other 7-Elevens are being investigated—including many in NYC.
-
That is interesting Vince , perhaps our Federal [ asleep ] police could also look here as we may have a similar problem in 7/11 stores . Most employees are also from that area , not an Aussie in sight .
-
Well Chinabound, I've contributed much here over the years. Just seemed some did not get the sense of humor. When I did attempt to help someone's question or problem I was ridiculed instead. So I keep the knowledge gained to myself now. At least the banner I made for here is still in use.
I see the immigration a little different then most. There are many right here where i live. I posted about a van load of illegals that pulled up in front of the Motor vehicle dept. here and for 3-8 thousand each got a Florida drivers license without having to get out of the van. This is the same I go to to renew my lic. Having to bring every kind of ID to show I was born here (in US).
I think this immigration reform is to get these people here already legalized so they don't have to be subject to being taken advantage of more like slave labor. Everything else was tried? Why not try this? It's sort of a reverse, If you can't bet them join them.

Nice to see someone else post here on the forum. I have been trying to keep it active
but it only seemed Willy answered what I posted on for the majority of the time.
Maybe that is because I can laze away the days in the sunshine and I have nothing better to do with my time. Ha Ha.

I wonder what part the NSA may have played a role with the 7-11's? I actively make anti government posts on yahoo and figure I'm on a list somewhere.

MMMM.........I usually post when I have something interesting and relevant to contribute, or when I get stamed up enough to growl a bit......
I bit hard on my tongue to NOT make a response to your post offering to check Willy's English...and Willy is an English Man !!!!! As another English Man (by birth) this was enough of a mortal sin (coming from an American who generally have murdered the English language) for me to either explode or keep quiet. This time I chose the latter.
To make a decent contribution to the Immigration debate is futile. It seems that all developed countries have the issue of illegal migration to deal with, and nobody seems to have got close to solving it...least of all Australia (we have a chronic problem just now with the so-called asylum seekers who come here in their thousands by illegal boats from Indonesia).
The thin line between Illegal Migrants, Economic refugees and genuine Asylum seekers is hazy and blurred. Politicians are incapable of taking a hard line because the situation is so entrenched it is difficult to know how and where to stop, especially when votes are at stake, and none of them have the guts to risk their place at the feeding trough.
What the average person wants is of no concern to the pollies...only that they dont prejudice their own position and that they kow-tow to the left wing Political correctness that pervades our societies...
Come the revolution ............... ;D ;D ;D
-
The laws already written in our Constitution have been blurred beyond help. A revolt may come to pass. I wonder if Obama will arm the revolutionist? LOL Keep your eyes skyward for drones!
-
David, thou dost speaketh from a bleeding tongue. ;D
Glad to see that you still love our American lingo...
-
Yes Shaun...
I am glad you recognise and understand the subtle difference between American and English.... ;D ;D ;D
I acknowlege and concede completely that the American VERSION of English is practiced and taught throughout the World...but what it aint is English..it is a version.
People like Willy and me, who grew up with and were taught the "proper" English sometimes wince when we hear how bastardised our beautiful language has become...but there again, we are both a couple of old fart Poms...get a bit cranky in our dotage !!!
I struggle mightily to teach my Ming "proper" English, especially when all the Audio/Visual/Written English Teaching aids are all in Ameringlish...and I wont have her speaking this in our house ... >:( >:( >:(
-
We just speak Chinglish around here! ;D
-
Me I am just an English speaking IMMIGRANT to China. You can apply for permanent residents but Foreigners do not get the right to live here permanently, just 5 years at a time once you pass all the qualifications. ;)
Willy
-
You Englishmen have no idea how bad the American english language has been "bastardised" until you have heard the locals. :-X
-
Ha ha You show me yours and I will show you mine. Ha Ha I am running out of pages of all the visa's and stamps I have had in the past 4 years.

Dont want to highjack this thread but I have a immigration question/problem.
We have been waiting for Linda and Ziwei's permanent "green card" for over 6 months now. Well finally Saturday in the mail I got the letters took them in the house and showed them to Linda and wow she was all smiles and wanted to call her father. I set down and checked them over and sure enough they got Lindas birthday wrong. I called Monday and talked to some guy and told him the problem, well now I have to prove that it was their mistake and not mine or I have to pay the money again and start all over. I told him that the date is right on the conditional card but wrong on the permanent card that it was their mistake. (bighting my lip)
He said I have to file a form I-90 and send it to them with her card. I sure hate to give up that card now! All I got out of him is "im sorry sir" fucking idiots
So I am trying to go back through all the old paperwork so I answer the questions the same as before so there is no difference or misspelling. The question that has me worried is Port of Entry, City and State? She came through Chicago Ill. which should be the answer but you have to pick from the list attached to that question. The only answer that is close is Chicago Asylum Office, but I never heard of this office before. I think the rest of the form is ok but not sure about this question.
Anybody had this problem or know if that is right plese let me know. I dont want to fuck this up now.
Thanks
Kenny
-
Just type Chicago into box 5.a1 on the I-90 form, that will bring up Ohare International Airport which should be the POE if she arrived via airplane to Chicago.
-
Thanks Robert, i tryed to type into the box but it would not let me but i will try again.
I thought about it some more and if I just had the printed form and filled it out by hand I wouldnt even know about the selection given.
Robert,
We were doing this on my dad's computer this morning and right after we finished his computer crashed. After reading your reply we tryed another computer and started over and it worked fine then. I dont understad that but it is printed and I will proof read a few times and mail tomorrow.
thanks for your response.
Kenny
-
Here, use this form. You must type Chicago completely into the box. It goes through several locations during the typing but stops on O'Hare International after the word Chicago is completed. The form you are using might be an older version so you might want to check the expiration date in the upper right hand corner of the form.
http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/i-90.pdf (http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/i-90.pdf)
P.S. Make a color copy of both sides of the green card you are sending back just in case they lose it.
-
Make color copy, good idea I will do that as well.
thanks again
