Willy,

Be prepared to be fumigated before they open the aircraft doors at Mumbai (Bombay)
Oh, ....and you will definitely smell the perfumes of India when the doors ARE opened.... haha!!

David.....

I have just a 2 hour stop over in Mumbai.  I lived in India for a while - I hated Indian food and only ate Chinese so was only there for a couple of months.  But it is the first available flight back so it is a case of not expecting any action by me during this enforced wait!!!!!

I know all about Mumbai, I did a couple of projects there. So i know exactly what your saying here. And people are saying here, that China is a bit grubby??  Maybe it is, but it's got a hell of a way to go, to get anywhere near the streets and buildings in India.... in any city in India!!!

Willy, Who are you flying back with??

Jet airways - as I understand it they have a draw for places.  Half get a seat inside and the other side are strapped to the wings and have to pedal like F--!!!! For the second half of the flight you swop over.

But I have a lot to take back and they give 35k allowance.

Should be enough David - I have  a new concentrated version so 4 gallons should last for a while!!!! Yes it is an Indian Airline.  No work in Indian just pleasure but hated the food but thank goodness you cannot eat in bed!   Plus the women are not in the main attractive like the Chinese are. And I found them to be very bossy until the moment of no return arrives and then words are usually irelevant.

Not sure if I have been to Chungking Mansions Brett - what are the names of the women who live there. One may ring a bell!!!   I have never smoked any of that Chinese/Indian mixture though and the sparks were definately not coming from the electrics.

Brett,

Chungking Mansions on Nathan road, i know it well. My hairdresser was in the basement and my tailor on the ground floor... As i remember, i think the YMCA also had a place in there too, or was that next door?? If you thought the basement ground floor and 1st floor were bad, you should have of gone up the building further, it gets much worse!!!  The place was basically a den of iniquity, and probably one of the more famous landmarks on Kowloon side. The electrics were so bad, because everyone was stealing it from each other!! ...haha!! There's been talk for years about pulling the place down, but it's still there, very much alive and still kicking!! ...lol!! One day perhaps, if enough bribe money is forth coming, the place will be pulled down, ....One Day!! hahaha!!

Yeah, the place was fascinating. There was a great lucky cat shop on the first floor, I don't know if it's still there.

I think there are hotels on some of the upper floors, god only knows what they are like to stay in :exclamation:.

Brett,

One things for sure, ...they wont have any star rating awards!!!! The more i think about it, i'm pretty sure the YMCA was located in that building. I had occassion to meet various people that had stayed at the Y, and none thought much of it. Those that could afford better accommodations did so... It was pretty much known that one of the Tong families run the place. During my 4 years in HK i can remember 2 or 3 police raids on areas within the Chungking Mansions, what came from them, you never found out.....  I don't think anyone realises just how big the place is from outside, the place is massive!!

Hi Scott,

I used to write to a few ladies on Chnlove and have narrowed it down to a lady with P204.  I'm wondering if I should follow the suggestions laid out here by you and the other awesome guys.

What you should be looking at is the ease of getting to meet her!

I would say the closer to Hong Kong the better.  Especially those living in cities serviced by the Hong Kong Airport Ferry.  It makes it such a easy journey.

With so many flights the cost of flying to Hong Kong is probably lower than any other place in mainline China.

In the South of China the air is clean and life is better compared to what I have heard about Beijing.

I'm off to Wuhan at the weekend. I'll report back what I find. My lady's agency is in Guangdong Province though.

There are several flights a day from Beijing to Wuhan.

Meeting ladies over there is a good idea, although I think I would like a translator to help me find out about the lady.
