This works for now! You tube, facebook and a few others. Use this link  http://shanghaiist.com/2009/04/13/youtube_proxy_found.php
I've just tried it now and it looks ok ,but by the posts left on the site it might be a bit hit and miss. Best of luck

This message just popped up from You tube proxy "Your credit is over try again in 480 minutes or buy some credit.
To avoid the proxy server overloading the free service is limited to 8388608 bytes every 8 hours." Now they want 1.5 euro's a day or 15 a month. Hmmmmm

My sweetheart is not yet technologicaly savvy.
I download YouTube videos of interest with DownloadHelper/Firefox, and then convert the FLV files to AVI or WMA format and EMAIL to her. Crude, but it works.

And if anyone is interested in the files we share, try http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZMX2p3-oE-g

Its along the lines we are planning when the time comes,
and very graceful  ;-)

If you have an home in North America/Europe and have a DSL/Cable Internet. You can setup your own VPN and that should work really well. I did that last time I was in China and it was so simple. I connect to my VPN (to my PC at home here) and browse the net. Sure certain things was slower but nothing was blocked. If you are technical PM me and I can help you set it up.

If you can answer these questions, I will help you:
1) do you have a high speed internet at home with a static IP
2) do you have a Linux box at home?

Thank you every one! RegnisTheGreat, unfortunately I have neither you mentioned. And I am an indigenous Chinese. I hope one day I can learn something of this field.

Great thanks, Paul! You way is working now! I've bookmarked the link already. Hope it can survive long.

I do something similar to send her music.

1. I download the FLV files using the following address: http://www.youtubecatcher.com/

2. I email them to her

3. Then she plays them using the free Applian FLV Player program
