« on: March 24, 2010, 02:53:59 am »
Hello,

here is something that has been happening to me. everytime i sign on someone wants me to add them to messenger. they say' hi lets chat'
the name looks and sounds like a russian lady and so i do not allow them to see me online and also say  ignore all future messages and i added them to my ignore list. WELL they keep popping up when i sign on. anyone know why and how to stop this  very annoying

Ted

I'm assuming its MSN Messenger? Its spam and there is no way to stop it (short of not using it).

Ted

These messages are always a "front" for some nefarious Russian dating/scam Site. That's why I never use MSN or Yahoo any more....at least with QQ you get a request to add a name, and you can always decline !!

Join the Club Ted.  I get that all the time as well.  Just ignore them and they go away for a while then they come back.  I have done away with MSN Messenger and I just keep Yahoo for chattiing with Scottish Rob (that is when he can fit me in with busy love life.LOL :icon_cheesygrin:

Some IM's have a lockout in preferences, ie: Do Not Allow unless on my list. (the general statement they have)

Then you get innundated with add me requests...it's gotten bad... I never got one before January... now?  Every 2 or 3 days I get 5-6 add me requests in a batch.
