2nd Trip to China, this time with kids
« on: June 11, 2011, 08:27:40 pm »
Well in two weeks I am off again.  This time for 3 weeks (vs 11 days the 1st trip) and I'm taking my 17 and 9 year old girls with me.  My 19 year old couldn't get the time off of work unfortunately.  This will be a big trip for us.  4 days in Beijing, 2.5 weeks in Shanghai with a side trip to Nanjing.  My 17 year old is going to stay an extra 4 weeks with my girlfriend in Shanghai.  That will we a life experience for her!

I'm looking forward to this trip, kinda curious what my thoughts of China will be seeing it for the 2nd time.

My girlfriend and I are contemplating taking the big step.  Because we both have kids, its not easy for us to figure out the best way to move forward.  We talk about it all the time.  I know one day we will figure it out.  Who knows where life will lead, it is an adventure.
My qin ai de is in Shanghai, and I'm not

Halfpint,

I hope that you all enjoy the trip. I think you will enjoy the trip more going back a second time. I know I will. When I go back later this year I will feel a little more relaxed about going there and being there, I will know what to expect.

Rhonald,

I love your posts!

Yan and I both have kids - mostly grown up thankfully. Sophie, my youngest,
was seriously prepared to hate Yan before she arrived.
Yet within days they were best mates - swapping clothes and languages etc.
When we decided to marry, the kids were uniformly supportive-
and to my surprise, spoke at the wedding about how happy they were
to see their father happy,

So it turned out to be an exercise in trust - as are all relationships ultimately.

The Big Step:  recommended.  ;) ;) ;)

Commitment is a non optional part of growing up (imho)
