Had a pleasant day in Guangzhou yesterday. Gave the high speed train a miss and took the bus instead. Lot of changes on route.  But the major change was at the visa centre.  You have do do all applications on line now. Then make an appointment for a personal visit.  They check your applicxation take the documents they require and your on your way.  No need to worry about photos or copying anything as they have facilities inside the re-vamped office at Tian He for this.

They have 8 counter places there and each was manned.  Handed in my wife's application and will hear within 14 days whether it is granted or not.
