the water park will open on August 8 and will be Asia's biggest water park. it will include 4 main sections--a warm up pool,a major swimming pool, Olympic demonstration area, and an indoor water park. it will include some equipment never used in Asia or in fact other parts of the world. the tallest slide is 23 meters. it will be open from 10 am till 10 pm all year long and tickets are 200rmb for adults 160 rmb for children. its free if your under 1.2 meters tall. to just go inside to see the ticket will be 30 rmb and if you just want to swim it will be 50 rmb for 2 hours

Ted,

It sounds like they have enough chemicals in the water to keep it clean. I just found out that in France you must wear a tight fitting bathing suit to enter a public swimming pool there. Is there such a restriction in China? I don't own a speedo type of suit so I won't be going swimming in France in a public pool. I can't understand why the French would want to see a fat old man in a speedo anyways!  :o Maybe it would just be to point at and laugh! Hahaha! Now, where did I put those Oh Henry bars at...?  ::)

Most of the time it is just straight tap water.in a few of the high end luxury spas.I have ben to in GZ,Zhuhai,Shenzhen.Thiere is chlorine in the water.I have even seen the spa people checking the chlorine levels.A public pool in China. There is no Chlorine. And I have ben told by a well informed source. That it is just straight water out of the pipe. With nothing added.

For the more adventures of you.I would not suggest swimming in any lake rivers or streams in Asia anywhere.most of these waterways are polluted with industrial run off. There are no government regulations. In place to stop these companies from dumping the nasty stuff. If thiere is a government regulation in place. The factory owner has bought the government official off.

There is one stream in China.I think mite be ok.It is in Lushan. If you go to the top of the 3 waterfalls. And trace the stream to it's source. You can swim in that water.Thiere is no factories. And no bathroom facilities up that high. It's about a 5 hour hike.To the source. And if you are caught you will be escorted out.And told not to come back.If you go west along the coast. It is about a 4 hour drive from Zhuhai. You can swim in the ocean with out getting sick. The tide rise and fall is a couple of feet.So the water is exchanged every so often.SO thiere is always new water comming ashore

I was drinking beer with a woman from Switzerland. In a bar in Bangkok. She told me.Her boyfriend fell into the river that runs right threw the middle of Bangkok. She said he got out real quick. And made it back to the hotel before he started pucking his guts out. Then she said it started comming out the other end. After 3 or 4 hours. She called the ambulance. And they took him to the hospital..The doctor told her.If she had waited a few more hours. The guy would of died in the hotel room..He had swallowed enough of the water when he fell in.To really screw him up.

I seen the man.About 10 days latter. When we were checking out of the hotel. He looked like a death camp survivor. He had to walk with a cane. And lean on his girlfriend for support.

Maxx,

I read an article on the polution problem in Chinese waters. There is no way in hell i would swim in them. On this note i did get an email about farmed catfish from china. Want me to post it here? it does not shed a good light on the chinese industry so I am asking first.

Create a new thread outside of the Useful Links section. It can be moved here afterwards by a mod.
