why have a home phone and pay that when you both have cell phones??
Willy, actually this is a good point.
I can get a Tesco prepay Sim here that is 2c a minute to Chinese mobiles (uses the O2 network here) - my current Vodafone sim has 40 squid or so on it so will continue to pay the ripoff 3c/min rate until I invest in the Tesco one!, so I assume the same is available in Engerland? I don't even have a fixed line here anymore, no line rental, i have voice mail anyhow on my mobile, what is the benefit of a fixed line at all these days?
Become the change you want today, or all your tomorrows will be like yesterday.

Simple reason why.  I am going to Hong Kong to open Bank account.  To open one I need to have a landline telephone as I live in Mainland China.   One of their stiputations plus 100,000 rmb of course.  Mystery solved.
