“Hollow point” ammunition is never purchased for practice or training. This ammunition is purchased for the sole purpose of being used in active fighting. At the same time, it is a violation of the Geneva Convention to use hollow point ammunition on the battle field.
WHF?? Obviously you are not a gun owner or have purchased any ammo? “Hollow point” bullets are not illegal to anyone in the US (except in NJ some restrictions). They are the best choice of all law enforcement, hunters and target shooting. It is a more controlled bullet unlike the Non-expanding bullets that fail to offer sufficient "stopping power", over penetrate intended targets or objects behind them, and are too prone to ricochet.
The Hague Convention of
1899, Declaration III, prohibits the use of expanding bullets in international warfare. This is often
incorrectly believed to be prohibited by the Geneva Conventions, but it significantly predates those conventions. (wiki)
