Today my friends it was snowing agian for about the 4th time this week, leaving around a foot of snow to add to the several feet we already have. I am having to stay in town for a few days at a motel that I work at repairing things, so I get a room (with heater) for free.
At this time, I can't even get to my ranch to feed the animals today because 4-wheel drive won't get me there.
I was feeling pretty down, with all the snow and slush, and decided to cheer myself up. I went outside to the bar-b-q and fired it up in a heavy blizzard like snow storm. It took a while, but finally caught. I waited until the coals were just right, and put on a bunch of chicken, green peppers, onions and other goodies.
The smoke from all this cooking drifted all over the town (its a very small town). Soon there were heads popping outside to see just what was going on and what smelled so great. The smoke wafted around and over everyones house in town. People who were hunkered down nest to their fireplaces and watching TV, came out to see what in hell was going on.
It did my heart good to see all these people wish it was spring. I have done this several times in the winters before and there is nothing like the smell of a good bar-b-q to make people hungry or wish for spring to be here sooner...I know that wasn't nice to do, but I got a laugh and a great dinner out of it.
