Martin,

My provider is Bell. I am going to take the laptop to a Tims and see if it works there. If it does I will know it is the provider. It might be their anti virus/spyware preventing me from going to the web site. Holy crap! I just realized this is my 500th post. I gotta get off this computer.

It's not Bell.  I tried it with both Bell and Rogers and they're both fine.  If you guys can PM a screenshot, maybe I can help out.  Responses might be delayed though as I'm on duty tonight.

Mustfocus,

Can't do a screen shot. Pretty well all keys and buttons inop on the keyboard. You have only one working choice and that is to left click the ok button on the error screen. (Right click button will not respond) It opens the web site, visible in the background, but the error says it cannot open the web site. When you click the ok button it goes to the internet explorer screen that says you are disconnected from the internet and you have the diagnose connection button there. I know it is not a connection problem.

I have no problem getting on that website, it has to be the provider blocking it.  :o

Ok.  That helps a little.  That error is usually an indication of a bad third party ad on the site.  Try this... go to www.chinasmack.com (that's the front end of the site).  If you can go there, there is something on the web site that is 3rd party that might be causing problems.

First thing to try is to empty your temporary internet files by clicking on SAFETY -> DELETE BROWSING HISTORY, select delete temporary internet files (unselect cookies if you have any auto logons like chnlove). If that doesn't work, you may have to kill the cookies as well.

If that doesn't work, try going into Tools, click on the security tab and tell us what level of security you're running.

Hope that helps.

get rid of all the crap on your hard drive.  I agree if you use the disk cleanup program or "security" program and get rid of all
the bullsh*t ads and other crap they install without your permission, you will find that your computer will run like a stripped ass ape! also you will find that you won't have any problems getting sites to load up.  I found that some of the providers (like yahoo) sell
this stuff, then sneak it on your system calling it an "upgrade".  Yeh, an upgrade to allow all their ad's on your system and no one
elses's.

Rocky,

This is new to me. I can't remember hearing of this stuff. I have been trying to stop the automatic updates though. Do you just run a disc clean up from windows?

Mustfocus,

I am going to be in the Guelph, Toronto, Algonquin Park area for the next few days. Maybe as long as 10 days. Your link to chinasmack works but some of the clips I cannot watch. the error screen pops up. I will try the link from my parents computer.

There is one more thing you can do...

http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager07.html

Follow the instructions on this web page and see if clearing your flash cache helps.

one more item you can try...click on tools (above on this page on the right) click on "pop up blocker" and see what your settings are.
Anything more than medium will block tons of stuff, you may even have to go below that.  Also, when you try to load that program
look at the line above and see if it says "blocked by pop up blocker"  click on that and pick "everything from this site" and it will
allow everything from this site to pop up.  That's all I can think of right now, I'll keep working on it.
